India is the largest democratic country in the world, in front of which there are many problems like pollution, illiteracy and increasing population. In these problems, the increasing population is the biggest obstacle in the progress and development of the country, due to which even the best schemes of the government are failing.
Due to the increasing population, even the most essential commodities of all the citizens of the country – food, water, clothes and housing facilities are not available. Today, lakhs of people of the country are unable to get enough food, no clean water to drink, no clothes to cover their bodies and no house to live in.
After attaining independence, our country has achieved immense success in many fields like agriculture, industry and business. Most of the fertile land in the country is under cultivation. Many rivers of the country are being used for irrigation. After independence, many dams have been built, which are proving helpful in making the country's agriculture prosperous. A network of canals has been laid in many parts of the country. Farmers have been provided with new resources like tractors, tube wells and pumping sets for farming. Scientists have made successful efforts to reach new varieties of fertilizers and seeds to the farmers. Many farmers have also taken training in scientifically farming, and on the strength of their intelligence and hard work are also growing more and more food. The Green Revolution in the country has become possible only as a result of the efforts made for agriculture after independence. Despite all this, due to the increasing population, all the agricultural achievements seem to be less. What an irony, the farmer who produces food is hungry today. In some parts of the country, people still die due to hunger.
After independence, the means of transport in our country have also developed a lot. Bicycle, scooter, car, bus, rail etc. have given speed to human movement. Lakhs of scooters, cars and buses ply day and night on the country's roads. Yet the rate at which the population of the country Increasingly, the resources of transport in the country are not increasing at that pace. People have to face huge crowds in buses and trains. Many a time, employed people have to travel standing in buses and trains. The number of schools is also increasing day by day, but due to the increasing population, lakhs of children do not get admission in the school. The number of educated unemployed is increasing day by day. When any country cannot arrange employment for the educated unemployed youth, then many social evils arise in the country, which become a threat to the country. Due to the increasing population of the country, the citizens have to face many other small problems along with bread, cloth and house, due to which the progress of the country is hindered. Due to the increasing population, we are not able to make our life happy.
Today, our country ranks second in the world in terms of population. Today, the population of our country is more than one billion (hundred crore). The speed with which the population of the country has increased after independence is unfortunate. Therefore, it is the duty of every citizen of the country to seriously consider the problem of population growth of the country and make such efforts that future generations do not have to face difficulties.
Most of the citizens of our country trapped in the darkness of ignorance are unable to raise the standard of living of their children. Ignorance gives rise to many types of social evils. People trapped in street-rotten stereotypes and superstitions cannot be helpful in the development of the country. The desire to have a son and the practice of polygamy are also reasons for the increase in population, which have to be stopped in time.
The growing population is at the root of many of the above problems. To control the population growth, people's movements will have to be launched. Family planning and family welfare programs have to be made successful. Child marriage and polygamy practices have to be stopped. The government has opened many training centers in every province of the country to give maximum information to the people and to make them aware so that every citizen of the country can be prepared to uproot this problem from the root. Trained employees are also available from the government side in every village to check population growth. There has been some reduction in our population growth rate due to many schemes being run by the government. The government can achieve complete success only when the government schemes get the full support of the people.
It is also necessary to stop the decrease in the income of the common man due to the increasing population. Now we have to work on a war footing to stop the population growth. Every adult has to be made aware of this scheme. Educated young men and women will have to go to villages, towns and small and big cities and make people aware, only then we will get success.
