What is the reality of the hospitality industry and facts about hotelier?

Hospitality industry - A Hotelier

The people who visit hotels when they reach the reception they wonder that being a hotelier is a satisfying job because when they get in touch with the staff, has the front office staff co-operates with the guests, the guest feels satisfied, so some guest after checking out from the hotel they think if they would work has a hotelier they would live a happy life, but has everyone says a quote that "whatever they see from outside, that doesn't mean it's same from the inside."

That's true; a hotelier is a job for attracting guests. Having a hotelier, the staff co-operate with guests with smiles on their faces makes them feel that the staff is an honor to welcome them to the hotel.

But that's just like a role play, that's true that sometimes the relationship between staff and the guest increases when the guest also be that nice with the staff when they're both co-operating, but that's the other thing.

The reality in the hospitality industry is that,
The job is full of stress; some days during function seasons, there are loads of guests checking in and checking out.
There isn't a single minute to take a break that will be a full, busy day during that time. At the end of the day, there are mistakes which happen while registration of guests and while some guest is checking out, there are difficulties at the end of the day with the calculations of the collection of the amount while we are giving handover to the next staff. If that mistake couldn't be solved the amount is decreased from the staff salaries, it is a depressing job, where the staff is always depressed, especially in the front office.

It doesn't look like the staff is depressed when they are co-operating with guests, and some guest by looking at the staff with white ironed shirt and tie and sat on a black chair with a smile on their face of happiness, it seems a satisfying job for the guest,
But only a hotelier can understand how it feels to be working has to staff in the hotel industry.

It's the hotelier's job to keep the guest happy and satisfied with an increase in friendly relations with them to visit the hotel next time when they revisit the city.

The difference between the staff of the front office and the staff has a waiter.

If a person has to choose a job between a front office and a waiter.

  •  And if the person had visited the hotel has guests he will go for the front office, and they will go through some difficulties at first and then realize and will get perfect at it in the end or after some months or maybe years.
  •  And if the person is a hotelier and has already worked in hotels for many years, he will go for the waiter because he knows about this industry where it is less easy to work.

Being a waiter

The first thing the people think when the name waiter pops In their mind is that it's a poor job, the people go for a waiter job because they can't be able to do any other work and they have come from low side area to find a job in a city, but that's what the guest thinks or people who look at the waiter serving them food.

  •  The reality is that being a waiter job is not that easy; they should know all the names of snacks and drink items and tricks to work out from the situation like delivering the snack at the wrong table and working out through it.
  •  Co-operating with the guest when they didn't like the food or have some complaints.

Working as a waiter is also not that easy; the waiter can only do the job if he is trained for it, and there is also pressure.
The best side of being a waiter is they can earn every day through tips don't have to wait for the salary.

There's a lot of difference in the front office and has a waiter.

  • The waiter has to stand for all hours on duty he doesn't get to sit except break time, they don't get to wear a uniform like a tie and a suit, the best part of being a waiter is they don't lose salary at the end of the day except taking the extra leaves during weekends.

That doesn't mean everyone has to choose to be a waiter for their life; there are better jobs outside the hotel industries. And the front office also isn't that bad when you have experience in it.

Being a hotelier is great only when your working in a top star hotel or below, but stars should be included in it.
