What is the position of women in cyberspace

 

Internet surfing has become a regular practice these days whether it for social interaction with people, educational or professional purposes.Women have been using these platforms for different purposes for example learning new things, social interactions, creating content, earning money etc .It is required to have knowledge about cyberspace and security as less information may lead to trouble.We have seen many cases of women’s cyber bullying,cyber stalking,morphed images, blackmailing etc.Women are becoming soft target as they often trust other person so easily and are unaware of the consequences.A total of 10,405 cyber crime against women were reported in 2020 with an increase of 24% in India.

The Information Technology Act of 2000 is the primary law in India dealing with cyber crime.Cyber crime against women is a serious problem in a society, online bullying is very common these days people go under anyone's comment section literally posting hateful comments, abusive words.Now they have started a new things by setting a wrong narrative against people without any clue and defame them.People make fake ids on social media to attract someone for desires.Women fell under their trap and sometimes they make offence videos and blackmail them.Many fraud businesses running on social media are such a honeypot like work from home jobs for women but came out a fraud afterwards.

There is a positive side also but it is necessary to remain extra vigilant about cyber privacy and security.Women in cyberspace are doing really well by creating content and getting fame, online trusted business, online jobs in many sectors.Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter etc are some social media application which pay them for creating content on their platform.Women got platform where they can show their skills and spread knowledge to others so people also learn from them.
