What is the main issues of Unemployment?

Unemployment

One of Pakistan's main issues is unemployment. That someone is unemployed if they have the skills and desire to work but are unable to find employment possibilities. In Pakistan, there are currently more than 30 lakh unemployed individuals, and the unemployment rate is above 12%.

The underdeveloped state of the agriculture industry in Pakistan is the main contributing factor. The largest economic sector in our country is agriculture, which generates 20.9% of the GDP and employs 44% of our workforce directly or indirectly. In this industry, unemployment comes from two directions.

"A condition in which an individual is not in a state of remunerative occupation notwithstanding his willingness to work," according to the definition of unemployment of our economy that generates 20.9% of the GDP and directly or indirectly employs 44% of our workforce. In this industry, unemployment comes from two directions.

"A condition in which an individual is not in a state of remunerative occupation notwithstanding his desire to do so," is how unemployment is described.

Seasonal unemployment, agricultural unemployment, frictional and technological unemployment, industrial unemployment, cyclical unemployment, educational unemployment, voluntary unemployment, and involuntary unemployment or underemployment are some examples of the different types of unemployment.

For underemployment, Lord Keynes employs the idea of involuntary unemployment. It describes a situation in which self-employed persons are not operating at their maximum potential. People who only have part-time jobs or who work poorly while they are capable of doing better work are not sufficiently employed. It can be referred to as "underemployment".

CAUSES OF UNTIRING

The following are the causes of unemployment:

1. The British government's "laissez-faire" or free trade policy did not hasten the subcontinent's industrialization. As a result, there were limited opportunities to create a lot of jobs.

2. The population's unrestrained increase made it difficult to find employment possibilities.

3. There was a higher migration of individuals from rural to urban regions as a result of the deterioration of small-scale and cottage enterprises and the disappearance of traditional skills. Thus, urban unemployment increased.

4. Lack of investment and disregard for the industrial sector prevented the process of generating employment possibilities.

5. The age factor places restrictions on the variety of career choices. Many positions are ineligible for applicants who are too young or too old.

6. Many of our young people lack a proper understanding of their aptitudes, skills, and interests on the one hand, and the tasks, jobs, or careers they want to pursue on the other: If one is not willing to do a job and does not possess the necessary skills, they will not be able to find the job of their choice.

7. Some people live their entire lives either partially employed or completely unemployed due to inherited or acquired disabilities or inadequacies. Occupational illnesses and the frequently fatal accidents that occur at work could a couple of additional folks out of work.

8. Pakistan's population is expanding at a startling rate. All of these persons can work yet are unable to find employment. As a result, Pakistan's population boom is making the danger of unemployment grow.

9. Because the commerce cycle operates, there are ups and downs in the commercial world. The current trade cycle's economic crisis may force the closure of several troublesome or unhealthy industries, leaving their employees without jobs.

10. There is no doubt that technological improvement aids in economic growth. However, the unplanned and unchecked growth of technology could be detrimental to career chances.

11. Lockouts and strikes have become an essential part of the industrial current world. Every industrial unit has a trade union, and these unions organize strikes, protests, processions, and public protest gatherings, and they present a list of demands to the management. Lockouts are frequently enacted by businesses to put an end to labor strikes.

12. Some of our young men and women are not willing to work in jobs that are viewed as "degrading" or "indecent" in society, for instance.

13. Our educational system, which appears to be a holdover from British colonial control in Pakistan, has its fundamental flaws and cannot be overstated in its contribution to the unemployment issue.

14. The extent of the unemployment problem has grown due to the workers' increased geographic and occupational mobility.

IMPLICATIONS OF Unemployment

1. the issue of unemployment is a severe issue that has some negative effects. The four overarching categories of personal disorganization, family disorganization, social disorganization, and catastrophic financial losses can be used to discuss the negative effects of unemployment. In addition to being a societal issue, unemployment also affects individuals. A person without a job loses self-respect and experiences a depressing and sad future.

2. Not only the person of employable age but also his family members, suffer from the physical and mental toll of unemployment. The entire family suffers if the family's primary provider loses their job. The family must rely on its meager reserves in the lack of consistent income, and when those funds run out, they must turn to borrowing.

3. Unemployment, If not checked or managed, this could eventually pave the way for social disarray. People struggle to live up to society's standards as a result of unemployment. Some of them might even engage in antisocial behavior. It tempts or stimulates people to engage in criminal activity, engage in begging, fall prey to gambling, drug addiction, intoxication, etc.

Economic costs resulting from unemployment are immeasurable. Because they become social leeches, unemployed people are a significant financial burden. Economic production inexorably declines when persons with the capacity and inclination to work are not given jobs. Low per capita income would result from low productivity.

RECORDING ACTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

1. Pakistan's unemployment issue is getting worse by the day. It is increasing steadily. Complex as well. A deliberate approach will be required to deal with an issue this complex. No one method can effectively address this issue. It requires a multifaceted approach to be dealt with effectively. Only with the combined efforts of the public and the government is it possible. Numerous socioeconomic issues in Pakistan are mostly due to the country's expanding population. The average annual population growth in our country is 2.9%. We are increasing the number of mouths that can consume. To meet the expanding population, job opportunities are not growing at the same rate. As a result, population growth needs to be limited. The family planning program has to gain more traction, and there are other appropriate approaches to measures to reduce or neutralize The key way to solve the issue is to achieve significant economic development. This is only possible if industry and agriculture are given equal attention.

Construction of significant and minor irrigation projects, expansion and development of plantations, intensive agriculture, and horticulture can all boost the number of jobs available in the agricultural industry. Unused land can be developed for farming.

2. The improvement of animal husbandry (dairy farming, poultry, piggery, etc.) and the growth of forestry and fisheries are also significant steps in the right direction.

3. In the context of Pakistan, cottage and domestic industries, which are frequently linked to agriculture, are crucial to the growth of the economy.

4. Industrial crops make farming tasks economically appealing. Commercial crops can provide farmers with a good source of income, including Arica, coffee, tea, pepper, ginger, cardamom, cashew, tobacco, groundnut, vegetables, and fruits. Farmers must receive the proper encouragement to develop these commercial crops.

5. Additional agricultural projects and programs will be launched based on the practicality and local needs to give local youth new chances to put their skills and enthusiasm to work on developmental initiatives.

5. Industry development must be planned if new jobs are to be made available. Large-scale industries are one aspect of industry development. b) Small-scale businesses; c) cottage and village industries, such as handicrafts. It is important to maintain a healthy balance between industrial expansion and agricultural growth. To prevent the destruction of the household and handicraft industries.

6. Education and employment are strongly related. Our schooling is more focused on getting a degree than getting a job. Instead of meeting the demands of rural areas, it caters more to metropolitan needs. The bias stemming from British colonialism still exists in some measure. Consequently, it has failed to produce an army of independent, self-respecting young people.
