It is being said that the future of India depends mostly on its children and youth, which is known as young generation. They will make our India far better than this generation, as expected by everyone.
When topic of youth/children comes in our mind, we start dividing them in mainly two parts. One is girls called female and other is boys called males. Then we think about religion i.e. Muslim, Hindu, Christian, etc. Our society makes this small word ‘Youth’ to a number of words.
Coming to the topic, the male ratio is 52% and the female ratio is 48% in India according to the Census 2011. In the year 2011 and much before, girls were not safe, they were not being focused those days. So as India is a democratic country, the government of India made some rules, some reservation policies to provide security to girls and make their life easier. But the India in 2011 and before is very different from today’s India, i.e. India in 2020 and 2021. We are now living in the 21st century. Now a day’s girls are not like those of past years. Today, girls are making names in different fields, and they are also now competing with males and also getting more success than them. Now a day’s more than 80% girls are having education and no one is also trying to stop women’s education. More than 40% of girls are now doing jobs in different fields. No fields left where female employees are not there. Now the readers may be thinking that all these are made possible because there are some reservations for females specially. Is it? Think again; think from your core of heart if now a day’s girls are able to compete with males and the success rates of females are also more than boys. Then, is it because of reservation? Why now also the government is reserving seats especially for girls? Then, Why not for males? I am not telling that there should be reservation for boys also. I am trying to say that as today’s girls are smarter, faster as compared to those when this reservation in each and every field for them. I can’t find any reason to reserve seats especially for females now a day’s also. As now a day’s girls are not less than boys, then both should be treated equally. Yes, we should think about females’ security because girls are not safe today also. It is a shameful thing for us to say that today girls are more unsecure than those ancient days. This is only because of the mindset of the society. As said by our great leader Mahatma Gandhi, “A girl is secure when she can move in midnight on roads of the capital of India.” This is not possible now a day till that time when we will start treating both equally. However, except their security they are not weaker now, additionally they are ready and much smarter than boys. The women reservation bill 2008 was passed to provide 1/3rd reservation from all seats of lower house of parliament of India. So the women can also get rights to participate in politics. Yes, it was correct, and it was a very deep matter to think about, but not now. Why government is not analyzing the power of women now? Why the reservation bill 2008 was not amended till now? It should be amended and both men and women should be given equal rights.
At last, I want to inform you that I am not trying to support either men or women. I am just trying to discover the truth. The Indian and the government of India should think about it and also make perfect decision suitable for both. It means not that we should stop respecting women. But from today we should pledge that we should respect each other not only respect women but respect men also from today.
