What is the Impact of Biotechnology

Biotechnology is no new development in science field. It has been used for years, but it has not been widely described as biotechnology. In its simplest form, biotechnology means using living organisms or their products to improve or enhance human health or the environment, or to run a process. Biotechnology itself is a combination of biology and other sciences to create new, innovative products in the agricultural, industrial and environmental industries. It includes products like vaccines, medications, dietary supplements and plant growth hormones. 

In the field of biotechnology, nine major areas and their application. These nine major areas are bio processing technology, monoclonal antibodies, cell culture, regenerative DNA technology, cloning, protein engineering, biosensors, nanobiotechnology and microarrays. 

Bio processing technology refers to the use of living cells to produce popular products. This method has been used for thousands of years without the knowledge of true science, such as brewing beer, wine making, and even making bread and cucumbers! Bacteria first appeared in the mid-1800's, and people came to realize that these useful products were the source of their biological machinery. Extensive research and research has led us today to the production of amino acids, birth control pills, pesticides, antibiotics and vitamins, to name just a few. 

The technology of Monoclonal antibody to make antibodies uses cells from the immune system. Monoclonal antibodies are very useful in detecting any local contaminants, detecting viruses that may be harmful to food, distinguishing between normal cells and cancer, and accurately diagnosing any possible infectious diseases in plants, humans and animals. 

The growth of cells without the organism simply means Cell culture. Three (3) areas in the study, which include plant, insect and mammal cell culture. DNA Recombinant technology, in the literal sense of the word, means to reassemble two fragments of DNA into two separate types and are used to produce new vaccines and medicines, slow down the digestive process, control bacterial infections (to prevent inflammation). 

Cloning became very popular after Dolly made sheep years ago. Cloning technology actually allows the production of similar genes, plants, cells or animals. Protein engineering is a DNA recombinant process that aims to develop existing proteins to form unnatural proteins. These proteins can be used in food processing, drug development, and industrial production. 

A combination of biology and the development of microelectronics is Biosensors. It acquires devices based on cell specifications and molecules to identify and measure very low levels, which is why they are widely used to measure healthy eating, safety and nutrition of teens, explosive detection, toxicity, and bio warfare agent, detect and measure impurities, and provide emergency bedside measurements of essential blood components. 

Nanobiotechnology refers to the research, operation, and production of small structures and equipment that may consist of only one molecule. Field of research enables to improve the specificity and timing of drug delivery. Also, increase the speed and effectiveness of diagnostics. Promote the development of green production processes. 

A study that enables us to analyze tens of thousands of samples at a time is Microarray. This field allows us to monitor genetic activity, to identify genes that are important for plant production, and to identify genetic mutations associated with disease
