* Introduction of Omkareshwar Baba.
Omkara shear is a Hindu temple. It is located in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated on an island called Mandhata or Shivpuri in the middle of the Narmada River. This is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva; centuries ago, the Bhil tribes settled people at this place, and now this place is famous for its grandeur and history. It is situated about (14 km) away from the Morat takka village here. This island is made in the shape of a Hindu sacred symbol. There are two temples located here. Kare Ishvara was created automatically from the river Narmada. This river is one of the holiest rivers of India, and now the world's largest dam project is being constructed on it. The word Omkar, first uttered from the mouth of the creator, the Veda, cannot be recited without reciting it. The physical deity of this Omkar is Omkar Kshetra. It has 68 shrines. Here 33 Koti deities reside with family, and there are 108 impressive Shivling with 2 Jyotish roop Lingas. Out of the 12 famous Jyotirlinga of the country, 2 Jyotirlinga are situated in Madhya Pradesh. One is seated in Ujjain as Mahakal and the other in Omkareshwar as Omkareshwar- Mamleshwar.
* History of Omkareshwar Temple.
In this temple, Shiva devotee Kuber did penance and established Shivling. Whom Shiva had made the rich man of the gods. For Kubera's bath, Shiva created the river Kaveri from the hair of his hair. This river flows from the side of the Kuber temple and joins Narmada, which has been seen as direct evidence by the devotees going for small circumambulation; this Kaveri revolves around Omkar mountain and meets Narmada back at the confluence; this is the name of Narmada Kaveri. It is called Sangam. There is special importance of raising tides on this temple every year on the night of Diwali. There is a pucca ghat on that side too. Here in Narmada, near the ghat, it is believed to be Koti Tirtha or Chakra tirtha. After taking a bath here, the travelers climb up the stairs and go to visit the Omkareshwar-temple. The temple is at some height on the beach itself. There is an idol of Panchmukh Ganesha on the premises of the temple.
Omkareshwar Linga is situated on the first floor. The linga of Shri Maheshwar is unknown. This linga is not just below the top of the temple but on one side. Water is filled around the penis. The entrance of the temple is small. It's like going into a cave. Nearby is the idol of Parvati Ji. Ongoing to the second floor by climbing the stairs in the Omkareshwar temple, one can see the Mahakaleshwar Linga. This linga is below the summit. Siddhanath Linga is on the third floor. This, too, is below the summit. Gupteshwar Linga is on the fourth floor. The Dhwaj Ishwar Linga is on the fifth floor. The terraces above the lingas on the third, fourth and fifth stories have octagonal figures intertwined. The roof above the Mahakaleshwar Linga located on the second floor is conical rather than flat, and there are no octagonal figures. The idols of Nandi are installed in the courtyards of the Shivling of the first and second floors. There is no idol of Nandi in the courtyard of the third floor. This courtyard is only in the form of an open terrace. The fourth and fifth floors do not have courtyards. He is contained only in the summit of the Omkareshwar temple. The idol of Nandi on the first floor, a pillar is visible under its Hanu. Such a pillar is rarely found in other sculptures of Nandi. Rameshwar-temple and Gauri Somnath are seen in the parikrama of Shri Aum Kare Ishwar Ji. There are many temples near Omkareshwar temple-like Avi mute Ishwar, Jwale Ishwar, Kedareshwar, etc.
