* Introduction of Baba Amarnath.
Amarnath Cave is a major pilgrimage center for Hindus. A lot of confusion is spread about this. Nowadays, the practice of promoting Baba Amarnath as 'Barfani Baba' is also going on. This is how religion gets so led. Actually, this is the place of Amare Ishwar Mahadev. In ancient times it was called 'Amare share. It has been widely misunderstood that a Muslim first discovered this cave in the 18th-19th century. He was a shepherd of Gujjar society, who is called Buta Malik. Did the shepherd take his goats for grazing at such a high altitude, where oxygen is scarce? Local historians believe that the cave was rediscovered in the summer of 1869 and that the first formal pilgrimage to the holy cave was held 3 years later, in 1872. Malik was also accompanying him on this pilgrimage. In his book 'Valley of Kashmir,' an English writer, Lawrence, writes that earlier, the Kashmiri Brahmins of Matta used to make pilgrimages to Amarnath. Later in Bat kut, the Malik took over this responsibility, as it was their responsibility to maintain the route and act as guides. They used to help the sick, older adults and made them visit Amarnath, so the Malik took over the Yatra's responsibility. They also knew about the weather. Even today, the fourth offering is given to the descendants of this Muslim shepherd. In fact, due to foreign Iranian and Turkic invasions on the Kashmir Valley during the medieval period, there was an atmosphere of unrest and fear, due to which Hindus fled from there. Foreign Muslim invaders first targeted Pahal gaon because of the historicity of this village and its fame till Israel. According to Indian belief, a tribe of Jews had settled here for the first time.
There were many monasteries of Hindus and Buddhists on this hill station, where people used to meditate. One such research has been done in this Pahal gaon that Moses and Jesus spent the last days of their lives. He was later buried at Rau Jabal near Srinagar. Pahalgam means shepherd's village. In such a situation, when the attack took place, the Amarnath Yatra was interrupted for a period of about 300 years from the middle of the 14th century. One of the rulers of Kashmir was 'Zainul buddy (1420-70 AD), who visited the Amarnath cave. Then it was reintroduced in the 18th century. During the year 1991 to 95, this visit was postponed due to the fear of terrorist attacks. It is also popular that during the Mughal period, when Kashmiri Pandits were massacred, the Pandits prayed at Amarnath. During that time, there was an Akashvani from there that all of you should seek help from the Sikh Guru. Probably he was Hargobind Singhji Maharaj. Before that, there was Arjun Devji. From Arjun Devji to Guru Gobind Singhji, all the Gurus had protected India from the Mughal lian terror. Mythological belief is that once the valley of Kashmir was submerged. It took the form of a big lake. To protect the creatures of the world, sage Kashyap drained this water through many rivers and small water bodies. At the same time, Bhrigu Rishi passed through there during his journey to the holy Himalayan mountain. Then when the water level was low, Bhrigu Rishi first saw the holy cave of Amarnath and the snowy Shivling in the Himalayan mountain ranges. It is believed that since then, this place has become the main shrine of Shiva worship, and countless pilgrims bear all the pain and sufferings of this inaccessible journey to see the wonderful form of Shiva. Coming here, he finds eternal and infinite spiritual happiness.
* Baba Amarnath Gupha is so ancient.
The Amarnath cave, located at an altitude of 3,888 meters, about 141 km from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is believed by the Archaeological Department to be 5000 years old; that is, this cave was in the Mahabharata period. But his assessment may be wrong because the question arises that when there was a cave 5000 years ago, what was not a cave before that?
The ancient mountains of the Himalayas are believed to be millions of years old. If any cave has been made in them, it must have been made during the Ice Age itself, 12 to 13 thousand years ago from today. According to the Puran, Shri Baba Amarnath's vision gives ten times the darshan in Kashi, a hundred times from Prayag, and a thousand times more than Nemi sharn whoever goes to Kailash, he attains salvation. When was the Puran written? Some in the Mahabharata period and some in the Buddhist period. Then this pilgrimage is mentioned in the Purana. After this, in Kalhana' 'Rajatarangini Tarang II,' written in BC, it is mentioned that King Samdi, a mat of Kashmir (34 BC-17 AD), was a devotee of Shiva, and he used to worship the snow Shivalinga located in the forests of Pahalgam. Ice Shivling is not found anywhere in the world except in Kashmir.
This mention shows how old this shrine is. In the earlier pilgrimage, apart from saints and some special people, only people who left their homes and went on pilgrimage could go because there were no easy means of travel, so only a few people could make a pilgrimage to inaccessible places. Equal mention of Amarnath shrine is found in Brin get Samhita, Nila mat Purana, Kalhana' Rajatarangini, etc. The Brin get Samhita mentions some important places where pilgrims had to perform religious rituals on their way to the Amarnath cave. They include Anant Naya (Anantnag), Mach Bhawan (Matta), Ganesh bal (Ganeshpur), Mamleshwar (Mammal), Chandan wadi (2,811 m), Such Ramnagar (Sheshnag, 3454 m), Panch Tarantini (Panchtarni, 3,845 m), and Amravati.
* Secrets of Baba Amarnath.
1. The circumference of the cave is about 150 feet, and drops of ice water keep dripping from place to place in it. Here in the center, there is such a place where the dripping snowdrops form about ten feet long Shivling. The surprising thing is that this Shivling is made of solid ice, whereas the drops dripping from other places make raw ice, which becomes friable as soon as it is taken in hand. Many feet away from the original Amarnath Shivling, separate icebergs of Ganesh, Bhairav , and Parvati are formed. A bubble of ice first forms in the center of the cave. Which keeps on growing little by little every day for 15 days and becomes more than two yards high. Along with the decrease of the moon, that also starts the event, and when the moon disappears then, the Shivling also disappears. The Him ling increases with the phases of the moon and disappears with it. Chandra is believed to be related to Shiva. What is it that the effect of the moon falls on this Him ling only? There are other caves where waterfalls drop by drop, but why are all of them unable to take the form of Him ling? There are many caves like Amarnath cave. While moving on the path of the Amaravati river, many more small and big caves are seen. They are all covered with snow, and their water drips drop by drop from the roof, but no Shivling is formed there.
2. The Kashmir Valley was home to King Dasha and Rishi Kashyap and his sons. Mythological belief is that once the valley of Kashmir was submerged. It took the form of a big lake. Then sage Kashyap drained this water through many rivers and small water bodies. At the same time, Bhrigu Rishi passed through there during his journey to the holy Himalayan mountain. Then the sage Bhrigu first saw the holy cave of Amarnath and the ice Shivling in the Himalayan mountain ranges when the water level was low. It is believed that since then, this place became the main shrine of Shiva worship and travel because Lord Shiva did penance here.
3.The importance of this cave is not because snow Shivling is formed here. The importance of this cave is also because in this cave, Lord Shiva had narrated the mantra of immortality to his wife, Goddess Parvati, and she did penance here for many years, so it is a major and holy place of Shiva. There are 5 main places of Shiva- 1. Mount Kailash, 2. Amarnath, 3. Kedarnath, 4. Kashi and 5. Pashupatinath.
4.Actually, according to the scriptures, in this cave, Lord Shiva told Mother Parvati the secret of immortality. Along with Mother Parvati, this mystery was also heard by Shuk (Parrot) and two pigeons. This Shuka later became immortal as Shukadev Rishi, while in the cave, many devotees still see a pair of pigeons which are believed to be immortal birds. When Lord Shiva was taking Parvati to narrate the immortal story, he released small infinity snakes into Anantnag, the sandal on the forehead in the Chandan wadi, the other fleas on the flea top, and the Sheshnag around the neck at a place called Sheshnag. All these places are still visible on the way during the Amarnath Yatra.
