What is the evalution of the technology?

The process through which technology has improved and evolved over time to allow for new discoveries, breakthroughs and advancements is referred to as technological evolution.  The following are significant junctures and faces of technology evolution:

  • Prehistoric and Early Technologies : Stone tools, fire and crude shelters are examples of early technologies that humans used when they first started to innovate.  These innovations were necessary for both surviving and enhancing living circumstances.
  • Agricultural Revolution : The introduction of agriculture to human history was a pivotal moment.  It involved the domestication of plants and animals, which resulted in the development of stable societies, higher food production and improved farming methods.
  • Industrial Revolution : Starting in  18th century, the Industrial Revolution significantly altered communication, transportation and industry.  It brought factories, steam power, mechanization and mass manufacturing of products.
  • Information Age and Digital Revolution : The information age and the digital revolution emerged in the second part of  20th century.  Communication, information processing and knowledge availability have all changed dramatically since the advent of computers, internet and rapidly advancing digital technologies.
  • Convergence and Connectivity : As more and more gadgets and systems integrate numerous tasks, technological convergence is becoming more and more evident. Convenience and efficiency are increased by networked ecosystems that have been made possible by the proliferation of mobile devices, smart home technologies and the Internet of Things.
  • Automation and Artificial Intelligence(AI): In recent years, automation and AI technologies have become more and more popular.  AI gives machines the ability to mimic human intelligence, carry out difficult jobs, and make judgement calls.  Automation has boosted production, efficiency and innovation across a range of Industries.
  • Emerging Technologies : Technologies with the potential to further change a number of areas include biotechnology, block chain,  quantum computing, augmented reality, virtual reality and renewable energy.

Technology is always evolving, propelled by societal demands, scientific advancements and technical marvels.  It transforms industries, communication, health care and transportation and many other facets of human life.  The rapid advancement of technology is having a significant impact on both the present and the future.
