We hear many words related to business, and some of these words are so common that sometimes we cannot understand the difference between them. We get confused in these words.

So there are some words like Factory, Industry, and Company which describe the above situation exactly. Most people get confused in understanding the difference between Factory, Industry, and Company.

I am writing this article to give you a correct understanding of these words. So let's begin with the very first word that is factory.

1. Factory

The factory is also known as a manufacturing plant or production plant, which is an industrial site. Generally, it is a complex in which many buildings with machinery are included. Many workers are appointed here for the manufacturing of products and operating machines.

The factory is a major part of modern economic production because products are created and processed only in the world's factories. In these buildings, workers produce the types of products that can be sold, and they perform this by using various machines. Many factories are totally dependent on machine work. In these factories, products are manufactured by machines only.

Nowadays, there are several huge storerooms in modern factories. In these huge storerooms, many manufacturing-related heavy types of equipment and tools are kept.

Factory can take supply of products from other places and can manufacture new products from raw materials. Products of every industry are manufactured in factories. Some factories of this kind are:-

  1. Clothing and Textile
  2. Electronics, Computers, and Transportation
  3. Food production
  4. Metal manufacturing etc.

Factories are not existing from always, but this system was started at the time of the industrial revolution. Before the factory system started, the manufacturing of products was performed in the houses for small workshops.

But after the arisen of the factory system, the products are started being manufactured at a huge level with the help of powered machinery, centralized workplace, unskilled workers, and labor division. Now next come industry.

4. Quaternary sector- It involves people involved in scientific research and the development of new technologies.

Now we have talked about factories and industries yet, but what is the difference between them both. Now let's talk about this.

The factory is a site or location where the making procedure of products takes place. In contrast, industries are a collection of sites that provide the same material or same services, for example, the beauty industry, automobile industry.

The factory is a part of the industry, whereas the industry is expanded to a large area. The scope provided to the factory is very less as compared to industrthe y. Still, progress takes place in the economy due to factories and industries make use of factories for economic progress and also help in making better life standard of citizens of the country.

The factory is related to the production of products only, whereas, in industries, products and services both are a point of concentration.

Now let's talk about the last word, which is company.

3. Company

A company is formed of such individuals who work together to complete the aims and objectives of that company. The company can be of many kinds such as Corporation, Partnership, Association, Private Limited, Public Limited Company, etc.

A different form of a company depends on its registration and its structure.

If we talk about the difference between company and industry, we will find that company is a part of an industry that means many companies are involved in an industry that involves manufacturing similar products and services.

The industry is a complete unit on its own, and the industry is always larger than a company.
