Pakistan on Friday made a plea to the UN, the international community, and Pakistanis living abroad to provide the flood victims with the most assistance possible. The victims are in desperate need of rescue, relief, and rehabilitation after massive rainfall-triggered floods across the country.
The nation as a whole, Pakistanis living abroad, and the international community were urged to assist the flood victims by President Dr. Arif Alvi. In a statement, he expressed the hope that Pakistanis, who have previously shown amazing generosity of spirit, would once again step up and generously donate in cash and kindness to help the government's and other relevant organizations' rescue and relief operations.
The president also urged the media to inspire people to give the necessities that the administration had recognized through official channels and to the impacted individuals to aid them in re-establishing their lifestyles.
