Nothing Technology Limited is a consumer electronics manufacturer based in London, England. It was founded by Carl Pei, the co-founder of Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus. Investors in the company include iPod inventor Tony Fadell, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and YouTuber Casey Neistat. On 25 February 2021, the company announced Teenage Engineering as a founding partner, mainly responsible for the brand's design aesthetic and its products. Nothing's first product "ear (1)" was launched on 27 July 2021.
List of advantages
While Nothing is working on its second smartphone – Nothing Phone (2), the company’s first phone – Nothing Phone (1) continues to be in news. This time on the microblogging site Twitter when a user named Yidi Reiss asked CEO Carl Pei how Nothing Phone (1) is a better device than Google Pixel 6a.
1. For those unaware, Nothing Phone (1) and Google Pixel 6a are popular mid-range phones that can easily be purchased below ₹30,000 in India. While Pixel 6a comes powered by a Google Tensor chipset, the latter runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+ 5G processor.

5. He goes on to say that ‘6a is Pixel's entry-level smartphone’, while ‘Phone (1) is our flagship smartphone’. He further adds that the bill of material (BOM) cost to build the Phone (1) is significantly higher than 6a.

7. Symmetrical bezels around the screen vs. a large chin on the 6a. This is very satisfying for those who demand good design.
8. Gorilla Glass 5 vs. plastic backside, again feels way more premium.
9. Better processor for faster performance.
10. Way better camera hardware, although we have some catching up to do with them on software.
11. 120Hz vs. 60Hz display refresh rate for a noticeable difference in smoothness when scrolling.
12. Noticeably bigger screen, 6.55" vs. 6.1", for better media consumption.
13. I prefer Nothing OS to Pure Android from an aesthetics and optimization/polish/finesse perspective, although both are nice.
14. Faster wired charging and support for wireless charging which doesn't exist on the 6a.
So special on nothing phone (1)
The Nothing Phone (1) has had the most unusual/distinctive design of any smartphone over the past few months, if not years. The Phone 1 has a transparent back aligned with many LED lights. The Glyph lighting, where the LED lights are embedded, was a much-hyped feature
One can use the glyph lights for knowing who is calling or how much the battery has charged, but beyond that, there isn’t much one can do. A lot of people I’ve talked to have switched back to the minimalistic always-on-display instead for getting their notifications, battery percentage, and more. The display is brilliant, I must say. It’s a 6.55-inch OLED (2400x1080 resolution) with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It’s plenty bright for the outdoors and fast and intuitive for doom-scrolling on social media. The colors are vivid and pop out when watching any high-definition content.
The Nothing Phone 1 is eye-catching, and you will no doubt get stopped on the streets or in the metro about it. I’ve been asked way too many times about what smartphone I’m using and where I can buy it.
