What is Socialism?
àWhat is the ideology of socialism- Literally speaking, Socialism word derived from words like social interest and society. Socialism is based on social justice; if I fundamentally explain the definition of socialism, then it is “ From each according to his ability to each according to his contribution,” that is the one who is working harder will get more rewards.
The oldest examples of implementation of socialism can be said to be the kings and emperors that didn’t work for self-interest; instead; they work for social interest; then after several centuries later in Europe industrial revolution took root, and the workers are treated pathetically during the industrial revolution the children as young as ten years old are made to work in factories in terrible condition and most of the profit coming from there went to the hands of factory owners leading to a rapid rise in income inequality and monopoly start to form.
To counter these problems, different people suggested different solutions like Karl Marx's communism; on the other hand, philosophers like Thomas Payne said that the landowners should be paying real estate tax and inheritance tax. The tax is collected could be used to give pensions to the workers, disability pensions, and allowances.
There were some other philosophers with ideas and solutions much more radical, like Rousseau and Proudhon. They believed that there should not be any private property. By the private property, they didn’t mean you can't have your own phones or books; these are personal possessions, so there is a major difference between personal property and private property .by; private property meant immovable assets like land and buildings they related these things with mountains, oceans, etc. these things are meant for everyone that’s why believed that land is something that shouldn’t be sold to any private individual there were three famous socialists like Charles Fourier, Robert Owen, Henri Pesiant Simon who believed that socialism is not an ideology that is against rich people rather they practiced Nonviolence. their purpose was to educate the rich to teach them moral values for them to realize that if they give up their means of production, not will it benefit the world. Still, they would find themselves happy doing it .this socialist ideology is named utopian socialism.
A contrast to this ideology, there is an ideology of revolutionary socialism. People like Friedrich Engels and Bhagat Singh believed in revolutionary socialism; they believed socialism is not moral. It is about providing justice to the people, and if this justice is not achievable through nonviolence, people should fight for it. These people believe that getting the profit was a right of a worker you might feel that this ideology is similar to communism and socialism interchangeably. Let's come to the related ideology of Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Sing had said that “ Labour is the real sustainer of the society, “ meaning that society is hinged upon the workers' hard work. The worker growing crops in the field, weaving clothes, and mining for oil, iron, coal, and diamonds. The worker produces everything, and the worker doing all these is the poorest; why? He said that the purpose of revolution is to create a socialist republic. In a socialist country, the workers would control the means of production, and the profits will go to the workers leading to the fulfillment of “ to each per his contribution in the truest sense.
