I consider myself to be a heavy smartphone user, and battery life has always been my main worry with most devices. Now that phones can do much more than just make and receive calls and texts—including hours of gaming, streaming, and using a plethora of other apps—a longer battery life is unavoidable.
These days, the majority of new smartphones have notably huge batteries that may last the majority of users a whole day. Even a phone with a 5,000 mAh battery, however, needs to be recharged again for me by the end of the day.
With its enormous 6,000 mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy M34 distinguishes out in this regard. Can this phone finally allay my concerns about battery life? Here is my review of the Samsung Galaxy M34 after more than two weeks of usage.
Design: Adopts the fad
For those who are accustomed to using Samsung smartphones, setting up the Galaxy M34 was quite straightforward. The Samsung Smart Switch app allowed me to copy the entire device, including the apps, settings, and media files, and then set it up.
Regarding this smartphone's appearance, I have conflicting feelings. While it has a glossy rear panel that gives it a luxury appearance from a distance, particularly with Samsung's recognizable three-camera array that is reminiscent of the company's top S23 series. The back panel is plastic, and it attracts fingerprints as well.
If we can get beyond these issues, the Galaxy M34 is a stylish gadget with two Nano SIM card slots that enable 5G networks and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. But unlike the majority of Samsung phones in this price bracket, neither a charger nor a case are included in the box.
Display: A visual treat
The huge bottom bezel and the out-of-date Infinity-U notch at the top were undoubtedly somewhat annoying after using a flagship phone. However, once I began using the gadget, they lost importance. One of the best display experiences on a phone in this class, the device has a bright and colorful 120Hz Super AMOLED screen.
It does not have a fingerprint sensor built into the display. However, even in full sunshine, the display gets bright enough, and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor is incredibly quick and precise. Overall content consumption is improved by the display, and the phone even enables HD streaming across all the major platforms thanks to Wide vine L1 certification.
Cameras: captures images suitable for social media
The Galaxy M34, although being an economical option, sports an optically stabilized 50 MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. Technologies like optical image stabilization (O IS) are often reserved for pricier smartphones. As might be expected, the main camera handles the bulk of the work and captures some stunning images in practically all lighting situations.
Additionally, the smartphone offers a 13 MP selfie camera, which is competitively priced. Interestingly, the main camera can also record films at high to 4K 30 frames per second. However, it will only allow FHD 30 frames per second if you select the extremely steady option.
