What is Rudraksha Convention Centre?

 

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi, on 15 July 2021, Thursday had inaugurated the international Cooperation and Convention Centre named - "Rudraksha Convention Centre " in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He also laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than 1500 crores at IIT -  BHU ground.

The foundation of Rudraksha Convention Center was laid in 2015 when PM Modi visited Varanasi 2015 and former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

Rudraksha Convention Centre is a symbol of Indo- Japan friendship as it is built with Japanese assistance.

Total 108 Rudraksha have been installed at this convention center, and its roof is shaped like a Shiva Linga.

Rudraksha Convention Centre will provide a glimpse of the ancient city of Kashi .

 

 

The two-story convention centre has come up at posh Sigra area on 2.87 hectares of land and has a seating capacity of 1200 people to enjoy music, art, and drama.

It comprises the main hall with a full flying tower, a gallery, meeting rooms, and parking for 120 cars. The main Hall may be partitioned into smaller spaces when required. At night, the entire building will glow with LED Lights.

VCC ( Varanasi International Cooperation and Convention Center ) is also planned to be environment - friendly building , fit fir level 3 of Green rating for integrated  Habitat Assessment  (GRIHA ) .

VCC will be equipped with adequate security and safety systems, with a regular entrance, a service entrance, making it an ideal destination for holding all types of international meetings and conventions.

The project's main objective is to provide opportunities for social and cultural interactions between people at international convention center in Varanasi that would strengthen the city's competitiveness by developing its tourism sector .

 

 

JICA  has assisted the convention centre construction work by providing a grant in aid of 3042 million Japanese yen ( which is approximately equal to 200 crores INR ) under the Japanese ODA scheme .

International Cooperation and Convention Centre - Rudraksha is the result of creativity and dynamism ( as said by PM Modi in his speech ).

After this, PM Modi also inaugurated various public projects and works, including - a 100 - bed Maternal and child healthcare (MCH) wing in BHU, the Centre for Skills and Technical Support of Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology ( CIPET ), 143 rural projects under Jal even mission ( JJM ) and mango and vegetable integrated packhouse in Karkhiyanv.

The total cost of all the projects inaugurated by prime minister Modi Ji is worth around Rs. 744 crores and public project work worth around Rs. 839 crores.

Prime minister Narendra Modi lauded Japan's effort in helping to build the convention center.And he also recalled that the prime minister of Japan, Suga Yoshihide, was the chief Cabinet Secretary. And he has been personally involved in this project .

 

 

The inauguration program and Prime Minister interaction with 500 intellectuals in the presence of the Japanese delegation  and broadcast the message of India - Japan friendship was all done by the Covid -19 prevention protocol .

All this will add charm to the glory Of  Varanasi  , Uttar Pradesh, and make the life of people easy and smooth .
