What is Technology?
Technology refers to methods, systems and devices which are the result of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes or to the change and manipulation of the human environment.
In other way we can say that Technology is a basic term used to refer to the different tools, machine and equipment we use in our day- to -day life.
The term technology is derived from the Greek word "Techne" meaning art and craft, and the word logos, meaning study. It was used to describe applied arts, but it is now used to describe advancements which affect the environment.
History of Technology
Widely known examples of technological revolution was the industrial revolution in the 19th century, the scientific and technical revolution about 1950-1960 the agriculture revolution.
Digital revolution is still going on. The concept of technological revolution is often very vast, therefor it is not easy to explain.
As we have entered 21st century, we achieved success everywhere, especially in technology.
Nowadays, the technology is involved in every sector like manufacturing, pharmaceutical, education, aviation, health sector and many more.
Basically, technology is that way, where we execute the discoveries of the science and mix it with everyone’s need.
Technology was there from ancient time and, it is evolving with human race.
From the time of Stone Age technology has helped invention of fire, tools, wheel, machine, medicine etc. It’s still evolving with current and future requirement.
Example of technology
From hot air balloon to airplane, wheel to car and trains, from paperwork to computers these are direct use of technology.
Commuting from one place to other place is now matter of minutes, earlier journeys used to take days and months. Use of Computer is helping and saving time, days of work can be done in hours.
Technology has helped a lot in medical science; today no part of human body is left out which can’t be seen by equipment like X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound and Microscope etc.
These technical inventions have been discovered to make the tasks faster, easier and more pleasant.
Technological revolutions having occurred during world history were really crucial and influenced all the segment of human activity and environment around it.
Nowadays, we can’t imagine anything without technology.
Technology has minimized distance. It has made the world a global village.
People, are not only commuting from one country to another but from planet to planet like setting foot on the Moon.
Basically there have been many examples where technology has changed everyone life, there are some which are considered as dramatic changed for the human race.
The technology used in the field of robotics in one such fine example. Nowadays, robots are used by people and industries all over the country for various reasons.
They are also used in places which are otherwise considered harmful for human life, thereby protecting us.
One of which area is the cleaning and managing of harmful waste by robots and
Study of planets like Mars where human being can’t reach due to difficult environment.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology.
Technology might have made positive changes in the world like saving time and efforts, making things easy and affordable.
But there are facts of negative effects of technology as well that can’t be ignored.
Excessive use of Social media and mobile devices may lead to psychological and physical issues, such as eyestrain and difficulty focusing on important tasks.
They might also contribute to more serious health conditions, such as depression, migraine and obesity etc.
Working on machine for long time may lead to adverse health issues.
