Ram idol in Black ?? 

The act of consecration ceremony, a grand event, was held today on January 22 at Ayodhya Ram temple. This momentous occasion in Ayodhya was led by Prime Minister of India. The ceremony garnered the presence of various notable individuals, such as Bollywood celebrities, politicians, and renowned personalities from across the country. Following the unveiling of the idol of Ram in Ayodhya, many people have been questioning the reason behind its black or dark color.

The Stone used for lord ram idol?

The material utilized in the creation of Ram's deity, black stone , possesses a unique importance owing to its remarkable characteristics. Renowned for its durability, this stone has the ability to withstand the test of time for more than a millennium. The choice of black stone is based on practical considerations, particularly within the realm of Hindu rituals. In Hinduism, it is customary to anoint the deity with substances like milk and water during ceremonies, which can potentially cause harm to the idol over time. By utilizing black stone as  the longevity and integrity of the deity are safeguarded.

Description of Lord Ram in Valmiki Ramayana

The selection of Blackstone for the construction of Ram's idol holds great significance, not only because of its exceptional quality, but also due to its alignment with the descriptions provided in Sage Valmiki's Ramayana. This ancient scripture vividly portrays Lord Rama in a darker color, symbolizing a darker complexion. Therefore, the black color of Ram's idol serves as a visual representation of the narrative from Valmiki Ramayana, highlighting the connection between the idol's appearance and the scriptural depictions. During a media interaction with the General Secretary of Lord Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, revealed that the idol of Lord Ram takes the form of a five years old boy. He further mentioned that the idol stands at a height of 51 inches and is crafted from black stone. Additionally, the idol of Ram portrays various incarnations of God.

About Sculptor

Renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj  who was born in  hamlet in Karnataka, was instrumental in making the statue of Ram for the Ayodhya Ram Temple consecration event. The 200 kg idol depicts Lord Ram as a five year old youngster standing and grinning gently. This awe inspiring work of art was created using Krishna stone, which has some significant qualities.

"The stone is 2.5 billion years old, citing According to the Director of the National Institute of Rock Mechanics in Bangalore, the stone has undergone physic o mechanical analysis at the National institute of rock mechanics facility. He further stated that the rock exhibits exceptional durability and resistance to climatic changes, making it capable of withstanding thousands of years in this subtropical region with minimal upkeep.
