What is PUBG(Player Unknown Battle Ground) and the harmful effects

With over 20 million copies sold worldwide, and a console launch coming soon, Player Unknown Battlegrounds-better known as “PUBG” respectively secures a spot as one of the best games out today. The popular battle royale game was created by a Korean based studio.

The game was released uncompleted early this year, PUBG has a peak of 2.5 million players online. This is an incredible accomplishment because, for such a new game, it surpassed the online presence of players from older popular games like data 2 and CSGO. Even more interestingly enough, in the first 5 weeks in Steam’s early access section, the developing game sold nearly 2 million copies!

Many players have experienced server connection related issues such server lag and random disconnects. Another slight issue is related to the RNG (random number generator) of the playing field. Though rare, it is possible for the playing field to be restricted in the open waters. Now the problem with this is that players cannot utilize their weapons in the deep waters. In the end, it came down to who could stay in the middle of the circle.

Up to one hundred players parachute onto an island where they scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill other players while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game's map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into an ever tightening space to force encounter

Each weapon behaves uniquely, especially when the variety of attachments are taken into account. Wind, recoil, distance, and weather can also affect a weapon

When players keep playing the game, it interferes with their daily activities. Many players of the game are students, so students keep ignoring their studies for playing the game. All the hours that students are supposed to spend studying are taken up by playing the game.

While the hours of studying are gone in playing the game, the concentration levels of students are decreasing. It’s happening because all their focus is on the game. If they aren’t playing it, they keep thinking about it. The game is harmful also because it slows down the activity of the brain. Therefore, anyone playing the game starts losing their focus.

The academic goals that students or adults set for themselves get hampered because of the game. Their goals become secondary because their main focus is the game. There are many times when people skip essential events or meetings because they are addicted to the game. It hinders their growth career-wise. Many people keep extending or missing their deadlines at work or school.

Many relationships are spoiling because one of the partners is addicted to playing PUBG. There have been many breakups and divorces because of the game. The addiction is ruining relationships and is becoming the cause of disharmony between people.

There are many ways to control the addiction that people have to the game. One of the ways to control the addiction is to decrease the time for which you are playing the game. Start learning a new hobby, like playing an instrument or painting. It’s an effective way to make sure you aren’t thinking about or playing the game.

Another way that you can control your addiction to the game is to start keeping your electronic devices aside. Instead of using your phone, you should start spending time with your family. You can play games and spend time catching up on each other lives.
