Many parents seem to be concerned about the dangerous anonymity we call the World Wide Web. There have been recent concerns about posting standard, family-related photos.
Is posting a family photo really a danger to your child? Our organization works online with pedophiles every day. Real. Our harassment prevention programs are based on the information we collect by sneaking into online circles to learn how they do it. Such an initial study gives us a unique perspective on the question, which no one else can answer.
First you have to ask yourself… ..how likely is this? In fact, the fear that the rapist will see a picture of your child in a certain way, and then be tempted, do something almost impossible to identify your child in the first place, and then devise a detailed plan to kidnap your child in some way. your child may have been hit by a small star, twice on the same day. Pedophiles are opportunists.
While they may choose a child's appearance, child molesters are based on what they have a chance to be with. And yes, almost everyone who has gender with children is around every day. We hold less than one percent of them, and they exist in the community up to millions, about tens of millions in the United States alone.
Our organization recently came up with statistics based on widely accepted numbers, indicating that about 1 in 20-30 adults has an active tendency to misuse children. This fear of a rapist finding a picture of your child online, and then trapping your child with malicious intent, is nothing more than an urban myth. It has never happened, and it will not happen in the future.
It's not just the way they work. They do not have to go through complicated procedures to have children. Most surround children daily. Even those who are not and can think of kidnapping, will want the easiest victim. They will choose one depending on where they live, without spending too much time trying to find and activate a child photo they have seen online.
While the fears of parents about this may be real, it is unfounded. The thief would not spend days fumbling with a solid metal lock with a thousand locks, when the 3-foot door was already open and was blowing in the air. Similarly, a child molester will not take a very difficult, complex path to the victim. The only real reason for such a claim is that pedophiles are still collectors.
Sometimes they look at photo sites to find pictures of children. However, the truth is: The most common online images of random children using gender are taken with a telescopic lens, and without you even knowing about it. Pictures of the beach, in the mall, walking down the street.
Family photos that you take and distribute to relatives without the help of the Internet are more likely to end up in the hands of the misuser, and they may end up connected to the Internet anyway.
While it is a bad idea for parents to think that pictures of their child can be viewed by a child molester, the short time you locked your child in the basement, is an ancient fact. Sharing photos on the web is easy.
It is a favorite of family and friends. When we breed a society where innocent images are too dangerous to share, then all we have done is add to the cruelty. Society can be much better, if we can stop wasting time on this negative fear, and instead use the same effort to prevent misuse.
Missing from all of this is the fact that almost all incidents of gender misuse are preventable, with simple steps that parents can take. The media has done a great deal of damage to society, by focusing on the problem of gender misuse from a fraction of a percent, and reinforcing the common perceptions of long and accurate child molesters.
If parents do not understand the way they work and work, you will not be able to protect your children. The tactics used by misuser can be stopped, if parents take the time to correct the things that put their children at risk in the first place. With simple steps almost every parent can take, almost every bully can be avoided.
We understand that it can be difficult to find ways to deal with this issue with your children, which is why we offer child safety programs that teach children how to overcome bullying by reading a children's book. Each book discusses a different concept of avoiding bullying, and in this series your children will learn the skills they need to stop any bullying. Instead of creating new horrors as parents, let us continue to attack to ensure our children are safe.
