Political theory
Systematically achieved to provide an explanation for political troubles (i.e. troubles that supply upward thrust to or have an impact on the decision-making technique of a governing frame approximately the distribution of sources amongst a network of people).
Political theory is the study of political ideas and values such as justice, power, and democracy that we use to describe, understand and evaluate political practices and institutions.
Political theory at Vanderbilt approaches this study in two ways: by introducing students to the historical tradition of political theory, and by training students in contemporary political theory debates. Many of our courses combine both perspectives so that students can get to know important concepts such as justice or democracy, as we have historically understood them and see them today. Professors in our faculty work in both fields, and we strongly encourage our students to study the concepts and norms of political theory critically in order to reflect on political theory and practice as we find them in the world.

Political theory deals with the question of how we should organize the forces that shape our lives. Hence, this course explores the what, why, and how of economics, culture, ecology, race, gender, spirituality, education, and pretty much everything else. that shapes our social and political experience.
Political theory helps us better understand the concepts that have shaped our politics, including freedom, equality, individuality, democracy, and justice. It is important to note that political theory is that part of political science that studies what a better political world would look like and how we can create a political theory, so it often includes criticism of our current political reality and can even take explicit positions Guidelines. Whether we are studying philosophical treatises, pamphlets, or political speeches, political theory always implies a reflection on our own and other people's political principles. The hope is that such critical reflection can help us all become more engaged citizens.

Scope of political theory
The scope of political science is huge and experts divided the field of political science into five-under disciplines, which are political theory, public administration, comparison policy, international relations, and public law.

There are many universities offering graduate and postgraduate courses in politics and political science, and in recent years, due to renewed interest in political science, many have been interested in these courses.
