- Angioplasty: A catheter with a balloon at the tip is inserted into the blocked artery and inflated to widen the narrowed area. This procedure may be combined with the placement of a stent to help keep the artery open.

- Bypass surgery: In cases of severe arterial blockage, a surgeon may create a bypass using a graft to redirect blood flow around the blocked section of the artery.

- Thrombolytic therapy: In certain cases, medications may be used to dissolve blood clots that are causing or worsening PAD symptoms.

This may involve debridement (removal of dead tissue), antibiotics, and, in severe cases, surgical intervention to remove infected or dead tissue.
