What is Pegasus?

Pegasus is spyware (spyware is software with malicious behavior that aims to gather information about a person or organization and send it to another entity in a way that harms the users ) that steals data of users like reads text messages, collects passwords, tracks calls, and locations, and access microphone and camera. It was invented in August 2016 by the NSO ( Niv, Shalev, and Omri) group of Israel .

The NSO Group invent it for the terrorist to decreases the attack of terrorists on the world. Most of the time, Israel has failed the dangerous ideas of terrorists and safe the world.  The current Pegasus Software can exploit all recent iOS versions. Pegasus hides as far as possible and self-destructs in an attempt to eliminate evidence if unable to communicate with its command and control server for over 60 days.

The Pegasus Spyware finds the Zero-day vulnerability and attack.

Controversy on Pegasus

The recent Pegasus Controversy has brought forward various new questions which require speculation. At the heart of the controversy is the activity of infecting the mobile phones of the targeted persons by inserting spyware and then converting mobile phones into individual spy devices for illegally spying upon data and activities of targeted data subjects.

Nowadays, in 2021 pegasus becomes a big controversy like in India, the opposition party blames the ruling party that it steals 50,000 phone numbers' data by pegasus. Due to it, the 15,00 phone numbers were selected to check by the forensic, and it concludes that the 37 numbers may be affected by Pegasus spyware. 

Effects on people  

   The Pegasus spyware is only bought by the governments. The private company does not buy it. Because it is only for the government and it has a very high price. The developer develops it to spy on the terrorist only, not for common people. So we don't get panic about it .

NSO group's response

In response to detailed questions from the consortium, NSO  said in a statement that it did not operate the spyware it licensed to clients and did not have regular access to the data that gather.

The NSO called the investigation's findings exaggerated and baseless. It also said it does not operate the spyware licensed to its clients and " has no insight " into their specific intelligence activities .

NSO describes its customers as 60 intelligence, military, and law enforcement agencies in 40 countries, although it will not confirm the identities of any of them, citing client confidentiality obligations.
