What is PCB Milling?

PCB? Printed Circuit Boards are like the ATOMS of Electronics. We can say they are the basic building blocks of any TECH, either it is your Playstation, Xbox, or your good old Windows beast boy you love and take care of like your own SON!

 

 

Haha, just kidding! We all know it's dusty right now.

If you say Electronics, you say it as SEMICONDUCTORS, CONNECTORS, RESISTORS, DIODES, CAPACITORS, And you are good enough RADIO DEVICES.

Now suppose all these are bored and want to talk to each other, but they cannot because they aren't connected. Now here comes our PCB; it is the connecting surface of all the electronic components which want to talk to each other, or in technical terms, we say CONNECT.

 

 

Now the question arises, how are they going to mount components on this PCB thing, which is a hard copper sheet that has no spaces in between? Well, here it is!

PCB Milling is a delicate and professional process of removing or piercing copper from the PCB according to the terminal of the component we are using or mounting.

In this, we create structures and patterns according to the layout plan of the Digital Circuit Board. It's just like a pen sharp tool that itself follows the accuracy of the layout and pierces out the design like artistic creation, and believe me; if you search for videos, it would be like that you were missing out on this thing the whole time watching some other irrelevant Tech videos.

As you might know about some components of a device like an ANDROID or IOS. It has many components like RAM, ROM, PROCESSOR/CONTROLLER, etc. but did you knew that these components are made from multiple layers of PCBs joined together in such a way that there's negligible space between them.

So we can say PCB milling is the key to sleek orientation and compact layout of the device; compact and sleek doesn't mean less efficient or less powerful; it means greater density with much higher performance with core basics and relatability to electronics which will design a ruckus free hardware era and we can conclude it is the role player, a game-changer in the world of ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION and its other relatives of robotics, AI, and ML field.
