What is our own opinion on Euthanasia?

Actually, there are two subjects being discussed here : physician assisted suicide and euthanasia. This is due to my belief that euthanasia ought to occur in a hospital setting as opposed to a person's home.

Why then would I approve of euthanasia?  Well, It's really quite easy.  I like this line from a Bon Jovi song : " It's my life".  Individuals ought to be able to make decisions about their own lives.  They ought to have the freedom to end it if, in any case, they so choose and are of sound mind.  Because DNRs are an option, most nations have already legalized euthanasia in some form.  This is the point at which a man can declare that he would sooner die than live the rest of his life presumably on artificial supports.  It seems reasonable, in my opinion, to expand this practice to include the ability to declare, " I would rather have a single injection and die than to live two more weeks and then die drowning in my blood in a pile of piss and shit".  But the issue most people have isn't this, but rather HOW you die, which gets us to the physicians.

People don't like the thought of a doctor having the legal right to kill you, yet they're okay with people dying in car accidents or from strokes.  They believe that granting a doctor this authority would enable them to murder you for "evil " purposes.  They don't want doctors to have this authority.  For example, to counter this, I would explain that although a lot of legal paperwork would need to be completed, most people merely assume the doctor will put pressure on them to sign the paperwork.  Since this point of view is plausible, I won't call it ridiculous.  But I can argue that it is a little illogical to base your argument only on this little likelihood, which will undoubtedly cause a great deal of anguish to many people who suffer from deadly conditions.

There is a common misconception that a doctor's job is to rescue lives, but in my opinion, this is untrue.  In my view, a doctor's true goal should be to guarantee the highest possible quality of life, not merely survival.  As you can see, doctors have been practicing for a very long time, and in the past, their primary responsibility was to preserve lives because they treated more acute illnesses than chronic ones.  That was living in quality.  Lining beyond the age of forty.  But as of right now, we have a dilemma.  We have terrible, currently incurable diseases and very old folks.  It has been necessary to reinterpret what "quality of life " means as diseases have transitioned from acute to chronic.  They might survive in this situation, but it wouldn't be a very long existence.  The greatest life occasionally ends, some may argue otherwise, saying, "They took an oath to do no harm! " Okay, buddy, sometimes making someone endure an excruciating death isn't always the best thing to do.

In conclusion, euthanasia will guarantee that individuals have high quality lives and in the end, give significance to the freedom to decide what happens to oneself if it is properly regulated.
