History of Netflix
Netflix wasn't always a streaming service, even though that is how it started out. In the beginning, Netflix was a mail-order business. Customers would get DVDs from the corporation via mail, along with a pre-paid return envelope for returning the disc. Netflix was established in 1997, and when the website went live in April 1998, it offered about 900 different titles. Their website crashed on the first day because of the extraordinary volume of visitors. They placed 137 orders after investing in more servers. Customers may then rent an infinite number of movies for the duration of the month for a fixed monthly charge of $19.95, with no late fees or due dates. However, a customer's membership package limited the amount of movies they may have available.

In 1999, Netflix had over 3,000 titles and 239,000 subscribers. As internet penetration increased across the nation, Netflix's appeal kept growing. The service boasted more than a million users by 2001. That figure shot up to 6.3 million by 2006. Many of Netflix's series and films were made available for online streaming in 2007, and the company introduced its first streaming-only package in 2010. There were no DVD rental services included in this plan; it was only for streaming.
