Mass Media affects the culture of society. Sometimes it may cause the deterioration of culture. Example: Indian dress culture. When a product is advertised every day, then it becomes the culture of Indians. Now the day's internet is mostly used as a medium to exchange information. Social websites help to make changes in culture. Generally, social media is one-way traffic. Most people, use mass media to transfer their messages. Consumerism culture: A consumer is a person who buys products or services for their consumption. It is not purchased for resale. A consumer is a person who purchases a product or avails a service for consideration, either his consumption or to earn his livelihood using self-employment. The consideration may be paid or promised, or partly paid and partly promised. Culture can be defined as the beliefs, values, or other frameworks of reference by which we make sense of our experiences. The culture of a person or family or society is transferred from one generation to another generation. A person learns culture from the features of confidence and attitudes. People who have a particular culture may possess the quality of brotherhood and cooperation. These will increase the higher value of a person. Consumer culture can be broadly defined as a culture where social status, values, and activities are centered on the consumption of goods and services. Consumer culture refers to the changes that may happen in cultures due to the usage of goods and services. Most of the people who work in the Information Technology sector use credit cards or debit cards for their daily expenditures. So the culture of using the paper currency is reduced. At the same time, they purchase goods which are not required for their immediate purpose. On the other hand, there may be the possibility of exploitation of natural resources. On the other hand, financial commitment may be increased unnecessarily. When goods are advertised through mass media, people purchase the goods which are not needed for them. They purchase the goods just because the goods are purchased in their neighbor's house. This culture is increasing day by day. When EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) system was introduced, people purchase goods very easily without having money. This may increase the financial commitments. Nowadays e-shopping purchase culture is creasing. The vast majority of its videos are free to view, but there are exceptions, including subscription-based premium channels, and film rentals, respectively offering premium and ad-free music streaming, and ad-free access to all content, including exclusive content commissioned from notable personalities. Each month, EMI are applied to both interest and principle in order to completely pay off the loan within a given time frame.
