There are fresh claims that Meghan Markle is trying to steal Princess Kate’s spotlight, and it looks like the tension between the two royals might still be alive.
Recently, Meghan and Harry had their Netflix contract renewed, and with that came new projects. One of Meghan’s next shows is a holiday special episode, which will be released around Christmas. The problem? It will come out at the same time as Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol concert, a royal tradition that Kate is known for.
Because of this timing, many royal fans are saying Meghan is copying Kate or trying to compete with her. Some people online think she is trying to upstage Kate and take attention away from the future Queen.
A PR expert, Dermot McNamara, said that while holiday specials are very common and many celebrities do them, Meghan probably understands that people will compare her to Kate. He said Meghan needs to make sure her show feels authentic and not like she is just copying another royal tradition.
