Ladies played cricket in different spots in the mid-70s, however, the game was not exactly coordinated. Authoritatively ladies' cricket in India began when the excited and ambitious Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sharma, the originator secretary, enrolled the Women's Cricket Association of India under the Societies Act at Lucknow in 1973 under the President's ship of Begum Hamid Abdullah. The primary Women's Inter-State Nationals was held in Pune in April 1973 with three groups partaking - Mumbai, Maharashtra, and UP. These two women, alongside the originator secretary Mr. MK Sharma, assumed a significant part in the underlying advancement of ladies' cricket.

 

The W CAI got the International Women's Cricket Council (I WCC) participation in 1973 and Government acknowledgment in 1978. Global ladies' cricket was played in India in 1975 when the Australian under-25 group visited India to play a three 'Test' series. Nigam, Sudra Shah, and Shreeroopa Bose. From there on India played New Zealand, England, Australia, and West Indies both in this nation and abroad.

 

The New Zealand, Australian, and England players played in skirts while the Indian and West Indians played in pants. The matches abroad barely drew any groups and were played on club grounds, while in India the worldwide matches were played at standard cricket arenas.

 

The main Test game dominated by India was within the sight of 25,000 onlookers when West Indies were beaten at Patna in 1976. West Indies proceeded to beat India in the last Test match at Jam mu and the series was drawn. After the Women's Cricket Association converged with the English Cricket Board, the Indian group visited England without precedent for 1999 and performed extremely well. They won the one-day series and drew the Test series.
