Though the ones listed on a list below, the main points of interest are at lower levels. However, suffice it to say that since they are all ‘most important to the team, their current IPL trends don’t leave much for the future.

For example, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohit Sharma had both played only 12 games before this season when Shardul Thakur got picked, which is 22.7% of the overall 32 matches.

It comes as no surprise that Shardul took 7 wickets in 9 matches as he hit the final nail in the coffin with an IPL hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore. At the same time, Jasprit was a stalwart with 8 scalps, a whopping 25.5% of the 12 wickets.

 In retrospect, Khaleel Shah came in as a replacement for Mitchell Starc and hardly had a blip on his CV. He went on to perform strongly as he picked 10 wickets in 8 matches. That, coupled with 31.5% of the 16 wickets for Rahane, is the foundation for picking him on a regular basis. 

There’s no denying that while Trent Boult has been a game-changer, he will have to be more consistent in the future. On top of that, the addition of Colin Ingram could be an addition to the team’s bowling department, which can lead to a very impressive collection of results. 

 Kuldeep should also play every match for MI and if the first few matches are no jitters, he will develop into the mainstay bowler. 

These potential key signings are why the Mumbai Indians might have a future too. Fans and pundits are waiting to see if they have the patience to put up with long.
