Most people are already “fasting” every day, while they sleep. Short-term fasting may be as simple as stretching that fast for a long time.
You can do that by skipping breakfast, eating your first lunch and lunch and your last meal at 8pm.
Then you fast for sixteen hours a day, and limit your food to an eight-hour window. This is the most popular form of fasting from time to time, called the 16/8 method.
Despite what you may think, occasional fasting is very smooth. Many people report feeling better and more energized during a period of fasting.
Hunger is usually not a big problem, although it can be a problem at first, as your body is used to not eating for a long time.
There is no recommended diet during fasting, however you can drink water, coffee, tea and other non-calorie beverages.
Some forms of fasting from time to time allow for small amounts of low-calorie ingredients during fasting.
Taking supplements is often allowed even fasting, as long as there are no calories in them.
How does temporary fasting work?
There are many different ways to do temporary fasting, but all may be based on the choice of the usual length of fasting and fasting. For example, you could try a light meal for eight hours every day and fast. Or you could choose to eat only one snack on the afternoon of the week. There are many intermediate fasting schedules.
Here are some of the most popular:
Method 16/8: Fasting for 16 hours daily, for example with only lunch between 8pm and 8pm.
Eat-Stop-Eat: Once or twice a week, do not eat anything from dinner one day, until dinner the next day (24-hour fast).
5: 2 meals: During the 2 days of the week, eat only 500-600 calories.
Then there are the many different types.
Can fasting on a regular basis improve your health?
Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. For those diseases, occasional fasting seems to be as effective as another type of diet that reduces total calories.
Some studies suggest that occasional fasting may be more effective than alternative diets to reduce inflammation and improve inflammation-related conditions, including:
Alzheimer's disease
Rheumatoid arthritis
Asthma
Multiple sclerosis
Stroke
It is important to note that occasional fasting can have serious side effects, but it usually goes away during the month. Side effects may also include:
Hunger
Fatigue
Insomnia
Nausea
A headache
Temporary fasting is safe for most people, yet now it is not for everyone. Skipping meals will not be the best way to control your weight if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have kidney stones, gastroesophageal reflux, diabetes or other medical problems, consult your doctor before starting an occasional fast. The following are some recipes that can help give you an idea of fruit and vegetable combinations that you can use together:
