 Preventing Insomnia

Good sleep habits, also called sleep hygiene, can help you overcome insomnia. Here are some tips:

Go to bed at the same time every night, and wake up at the same time every morning. Try not to sleep during the day, as it may keep you awake at night.

Do not use phones or e-books before bedtime. Their light can make it difficult to sleep.

Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol during the day. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants and can keep you awake. Alcohol can make you wake up in the middle of the night and ruin your sleep.

Make your bedroom comfortable: dark, quiet, and not too warm or too cold. If light is a problem, use a sleeping mask. To turn off the sounds, try earplugs, a fan, or a white sound system.

Follow regular rest before bed. Read a book, listen to music, or take a shower.

Do not use your bed for anything other than romance

If you are unable to sleep and do not sleep, get up and do something calm, such as reading until you fall asleep.

If you often fall asleep and worry about things, make a list of things to do before you go to bed. This may help you to put your worries aside at night.

Sleep, relax, and let the sleeping legend throw you.
