The art of growing house / indoor plants inside a house is known as indoor gardening. Simply beautifying the area inside the house with plants. It is considered costly to decorate the room with house plants than with flowers that have been replaced frequently.
Shade-loving plants can usually be preferred as house plants. According to the availability of light and temperature, we can select plants suitable to where it is desired to be planted.
METHODS OF INDOOR GARDENING
The simplest method of indoor gardening is to grow individual plants in pots in appropriate places in the house. The other popular indoor gardening methods are hanging baskets, china baskets, troughs made of concrete, wood, cane, bowls, dishes, bottle gardening, window gardens, vertical gardens, gardens in trays, and trellis.

TERRARIUMS
A terrarium is a glass bowl of 25-30cm diameters having an air-tight lid; this type of gardening is a good display on a table, on a stand, or on a well-lit window. It can be made in any glass containers that are partially open or closed.

VERTICAL GARDEN
It is a new concept developed in Switzerland. The vertical garden consists of 15-30 cm wooden frames thickness, height, and breadth depending on the available space. The sides of the frames are enclosed with wire nettings, the thickness and bottom of the frames are covered with wooden flats, and the top is kept open.
Sphagnum moss / coase peat is pressed within the frames, which serves as a growing medium. Dwarf flowering and foliage plants are grown in the frame supplied with nutrients and water. It can be shifted from one place to another.

MINIATURE GARDEN
In congested cities, a flat dweller is left with gardening in bottles and miniature landscaping. In this, all the garden components are to be laid out in a miniature form.
A miniature garden is a showcased garden laid on the window sill or anywhere in the house. A miniature garden is laid out in a trough of concrete /stone/ wood/plastics/fiberglass of 25-30cm deep and 60cm wide and 90-100cm long with drainage holes of which 7-8 cm bottom filled with pebbles/gravel for drainage, over this fill compost upto 2cm below the rim.
The surface of the miniature garden is laid as a valley, peak, paths, pools, and plants are planted in between .

GARDENING IN HANGING BASKETS
Hanging baskets with cascading plants or cascading plants are suited to indoor as well as outdoor. Hanging baskets can be hanged in the entrance of the house hall, drawing rooms, and well-lit window. In outdoor hanging, baskets can be suspended from trees, electric poles, fences, blank walls in the conservatory where shade-loving plants in hanging baskets can be displayed.
The container should be light, attractive, easy to hang, with drainage holes .wooden baskets are better than wire baskets.
