Today environmental pollution has become a real threat to the survival of humanity. Daily tonnes of smoke are put into the atmosphere by factories, power plants, vehicles, etc. Pollution of every kind is a source of great health hazard for all of us because our survival is endangered both by outdoor and indoor air pollution. Regarding outdoor air pollution, we are cautious, but we fail to estimate the adverse impact of indoor air pollution.
Indoor air pollution is also a great threat to human beings. It adversely affects the human body and causes many diseases.
Due to the rush of population, we hardly get open houses, thus staying in dingy, small, and suffocated houses that are completely devoid of fresh air. These small, dingy houses are not properly ventilated. Even our surroundings remain unhygienic and unclean. Thereby, we become the victim of many respiratory diseases and other ailments. This polluted air adversely affects the human body. The capacity of the human lungs to breathe reduces day by day.
Poor air quality is a source of asthma, lung problem, irritation, itching, an eyesore, etc. We can find so many people who have asthma in recent days due to the poor air quality. Causes of lung problems are widespread among older adults living in small and dingy houses because of improper ventilation.
In addition to this, when we have a painting, whitewashing, dusting, and cleaning in a house pollutes our houses because this pollutes the inside air. This polluted air affects our body, especially our lungs. Beds and furniture furnishing also make dust which ultimately affects our lungs and causes respiratory diseases. They also cause so many allergic problems in humans.
Keeping pets sometimes is unhealthy because most of them sleep on our beds. They might be unhealthy if they were not clean.
The use of mosquito coils, room freshers, cleaners, etc., cause pollutions, and their smell troubles the body. Caes of vomiting and headache are found among the people due to this. Cleaning products, bathroom cleaners, and other toxicants are also a great source of indoor air pollution. The smells of these affect our lungs and cause respiratory problems.
In addition to this, we smoke in our house, which is again the source of pollution. The smoke produces while smoking in a room causes suffocation, which is very, very dangerous. We can lead a safe and healthy life in case we are a bit cautious. We can avoid smoking and use cleaners to prevent indoor air pollution. We should change our bedsheets and mattresses regularly to avoid indoor air pollution. We must use natural products instead of other cleaners and harmful toxicants.
Only individual efforts can help in reducing indoor as well as outdoor air pollution.
All the items that we eat, take, store, use are full of pollution and poison. Let us take an opportunity to meditate and save our planet. It can be done by the concerted efforts of all of us. There is still a time to save the planet before it starts ending us.
