The history of blacks has been a continuous climb from outside the lower classes of society during slavery to the top. When you think of black history, we often think of the human rights movement, of John Brown's violent protests, the Underground Railroad. But black history is not limited to any single event. It is always in the process of being done daily.
Even over the past decade, great strides have been made in high-ranking government positions by prominent and highly educated black Americans who make us all proud of the contributions they make to America. Colin Powell was a successful general who showed with a quiet dignity and authority that he could lead many men into battle. He was rewarded for his heroic efforts in reaching the highest levels of government, serving as Secretary of State for President Bush's administration. In all government halls and wherever Secretary Powell worked, he was treated with the respect and respect he deserved for serving his country so well.
It follows the honorable service of Colin Powell a prominent civil servant, a black woman named Condoleezza Rice. It was a day of pride when he walked into that office, showing how far America was in the days when blacks could not eat at the same restaurants as whites or drank in the same pubs. And his ministry is similarly diverse, meeting with the heads of state from Africa to Europe to the Middle East to South America and making great strides in all of his work.
These two black Americans are real examples of Dr. King’s view of people who were recognized not because of the color of their skin but because of the content of their character. Their prominence as leaders and the amazing qualifications they have brought to their careers provide great inspiration to black school boys and girls that they too can rise from this society and go where they want to go if they let their natural gifts and talents come. On the face They do not need a government program or special assistance to succeed. America will still go a long way, but DNS. Rice and General Powell are examples of how this program can reward black people for excellence and will not go beyond looking at the contributions they can make to the future of America.
And now we're in that part of the black history that's yet to come. The future is part of black history that is yet to be written. And we see another professional black leader preparing to be considered the highest administrative position in the country, perhaps in the world, the presidency of the United States. And as happened with General Powell and Dr. Rice, Barack Obama will not be defeated as a black man or in a state of racial struggle in this country. He is currently being praised and praised for his leadership, his eloquence and his ability to bring a new perspective to this country. It is a day of pride for all black Americans to see Barack Obama considered for this position. He will have to work hard and be judged by his skills, abilities, experience and leadership ability. But it is a testament to how far the country has come that you have as much chance of winning that election as anyone else. And if he wins he will fall another barrier to black people and to the entire African American community, children will know that, there is nothing I can do if I try hard. And that is the view of every human rights leader since the civil war for blacks in America.
