What is Guest Posting & 5 Ways to Guest Post

How to post a guest post?

How do you write a guest story?

You probably have many questions on this topic. And I will answer them and much more. But before I teach you how to send a guest and not do it, let's first analyze what it is ...

What is a guest post?

A guest post (or guest post) publishes an article on someone else's website.

It's that simple.

And people do this to get more awareness about branding and traffic back to their website (also known as referral traffic).

Now I have your video of tips on how to use guest postings, which you can watch below… or just read the article.

Decide on Your Guest Blogging Terms

Before we get started, your first task is to decide what the purpose of your visitor's blog is. Knowing this policy in advance is the key to determining the right kind of blogs for which you can post guest posts. There are usually three main goals for guest blogging.

To position itself as an authority and a well-known name in the industry.

Receiving exposure to your website.

Creating backlinks to your website (although this should not be the main focus, as Google considers this).

With the right kind of content on top blogs, you can do all three of these things.

If you are trying to win # 1 or # 2, you will want to find blogs with a wide and attractive audience.

If you are trying to achieve # 3, you need to identify blogs with strong root domain authority. You can check this for free using tools like Ubersuggest.

Knowing your goals in advance will help you decide which blogs will be best for you to post guest posts.

How to Find Guest Blogging Opportunities

The first thing you will want to do is find opportunities for guest postings. When looking for places to visit, your main goal is to find sites that are relevant to your niche or industry. You want blogs that are suitable for the following ways:

content is focused on your niche/industry

Audience bloggers will be interested in your industry

blog read to readers (posts shared and commented on)

The blog owner works on social media (so you know they will improve your work on their site)

If you are selling plant seeds, for example, you will want to find garden blogs with an engaged audience of grade students. The following should help you find the right kind of opportunity to send a visitor

Google search

Google is a great place to start looking for opportunities to send visitors. You can use any of the following keyword searches to find blogs that receive guest posts. Just enter a keyword with keywords from your industry.

keyword "submit guest post"

keyword "guest post"

keyword "guest post on"

keyword "receiving guest posts"

keyword "Guest submission guidelines"

This search should lead you to a guest post blog post, guest post page, or actual guest post to other authors.

Bloggers With More Visitors

Do you know any guest bloggers in your industry? If you read enough blogs in your (relevant) industry, you will know some of the same words that appear repeatedly in the guest boxes.

Like a handful of influential guests, blogs include Neil Patel, Jeff Bullas, Mark Traphagen, Tony Right, Jenny Halasz, Brian Harnish, Kevin Indig, Adam Riemer, Robyn Johnson, Benji Acciola, Kevin Rowe, Anna Crow, and Kirk Williams.

Using Google search, search for the name of foreign bloggers in your industry as well as the phrase “guest post”. This will expose all sites posted by guest bloggers. They should be good places to send guests. The bonus can be if you know a guest blogger in your industry that I can present to bloggers who post a guest.

Competitor Backlinks

If you (or your online marketing agency) issue backlink analysis to a competitor while working on your SEO campaign, it is likely that one or more competitors will have backlinks from their visitors' posts.

If you have access to tools like Open Site Explorer, you can look at the backlinks of competitors and see any blog posts they post.

If you do not find it, you can do a Google search.

link: domain.com -domain.com "guest post" (instead of domain.com with a competitor's domain) which should show the sites that the competitor has written to.

Example:

link: backlink.io -neilpatel.com "guest post"

Social Search

Many bloggers and guest posters will share recent guest posts on social media. As it is easy to search on Twitter, you should try using Twitter search for "guest post" keywords to get the latest tweets about guest posts in your industry. Just follow the links to see which blogs get guest posts.

Preparing to Post Guest Blog Post

Note that we do not just get guest blogs to connect with blogs. That’s because there are a few things you need to do before you can suggest a site visitor post you just found.

Know the Content of the Blog

Knowing your target blog content is important. You certainly know that they have content about the keyword you searched for while looking for opportunities to send visitors. But you need to know more about such content…

What is the level of audience writing (beginners, intermediate, advanced)?

What kind of audience is not
