What is the Golden Globe Award and what are the qualifying requirements???

GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD: 

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association picked the finest in cinema and television for 2022 at the 80^th Golden Globe Awards. The event was conducted on January 10, 2023, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and was broadcast live on NBC in the United States and streamed on Peacock. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) began awarding the Golden Globe Awards in January 1944, honoring excellence in both American and foreign cinema and television. The HFPA will have 105 members starting in 2022. The annual event at which the awards are presented is generally held in January and has been a prominent element of the film industry's awards season, culminating each year in the Academy Awards. The eligibility period for the Golden Globes corresponds to the calendar year (from January 1 through December 31).

Eligibility:  

For all nominations, the calendar year runs from January 1 to December 31. Voice-over performances and cameo appearances in which people play themselves are ineligible for any film and television acting categories. Movies must be at least 70 minutes long and run for at least seven days in the Greater Los Angeles region, beginning before midnight on December 31. Films can be scheduled to air, via pay-per-view, or via digital delivery. 

Movies in the Best Foreign Language Film category do not need to have been distributed in the United States. At least 51% of the dialogue must be in a language other than English, and they must initially be published in their nation of origin during the 14-month period before the Awards, from November 1 to December 31. If a film was not published in its place of origin owing to censorship, it can still compete if it was released in the United States for one week during the qualifying calendar year. There is no restriction to the number of films registered from a single nation. 

A television program must broadcast in the United States between the hours of 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. (or 7 p.m. and 11 p.m on Sundays). A program can show on broadcast television, basic or premium cable, or digital distribution; it does not eligible if it is solely available on pay-per-view or through digital film delivery. A TV program must also be produced in the United States or be an economic and creative collaboration between an American and a foreign production firm. Furthermore, Realistic and non-scripted shows are excluded. 

A film cannot be entered in both the film and television categories; instead, it should be included in the media in which it was first released. It can be put into the TV categories if it initially broadcast on American television. If it was released in cinemas or on pay-per-view, it should be featured in the film categories instead. A film festival screening does not invalidate what would otherwise be a TV program. 

During the qualifying calendar year, actors in a television series must appear in at least six episodes. Actors in a TV film or miniseries must appear in at least 5% of the episodes.
