The Israeli – Palestinian conflict is one of the world's most continuing conflicts, beginning in the mid-20th century. Colorful attempts have been made to resolve the conflict as part of the Israeli – Palestinian peace process, alongside other sweats to resolve the broader Arab – Israeli conflict. Public affirmations of claims to a Jewish motherland in Palestine, including the First Zionist Congress of 1897 and the Balfour Declaration of 1917, created early pressures in the region. Following World War I, the Mandate for Palestine included a list of obligation for the" establishment in Palestine of a public home for the Jewish people". Pressures grew into an open, insular conflict between Jews and Arabs. The 1947 United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine was noway enforced and provoked the 1947 – 1949 Palestine War. The current Israeli- Palestinian status quo began following the Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian homes in the 1967 Six-Day War.

 At least 11 people have been killed after Israeli forces hit targets in Gaza, Palestinian health officers said on Friday.

 Hamas spokesperson said “The Israeli adversary, who started the escalation against Gaza and committed a new crime, must pay the price and bear full responsibility for it.”

 Islamic Jihad is opposed to Israel’s actuality and has carried out attacks over the time, including the blasting of rockets into southern Israel.

 It's unclear how important control Hamas has over Islamic Jihad, and Israel holds Hamas responsible for all attacks expiring from Gaza.
