What is global warming ?

 

Global warming is an enormously growing crisis in today's society. Not just for people, but for plants and animals that succeed on this earth. Sadly, we as human are the only group that can resolve this dilemma.

 

Global warming is defined as the discharge of geen house gases into the air that entrap temperature on the earth, causing for Warner temperature. The issue of global warming is also very up in the air, because many people do not even believe that it exists, and because of this, there is much debate about what people should do about global warming.

 

Global warming is affect the earth a lot, and it is affecting it fast too. This decade has been the hottest decade in centuries. Because of this the polar ice caps are melting, and it could change the flow of the north Atlantic current. The change in flow could cause immeasurable effects to the earth, and could change the weather that occurs on the earth radically.

 

According to the IPCC 2001 report, the earth's surface has warmed by about 1 degree Fahrenheit, and that is biggest it has raised in the centuries. If the earth continues this pattern, there may not be a very hospitable area around in a few centuries. The hotter atmosphere on earth causes the ocean temperature to raise, and coincidentaly hurricanes get more power from warmer waters, which is why hurricanes of late have been so damaging.

 

The most dramatic effects of global warming have been on ice cover. It will almost certainly affect almost every bit of the planet, but ice cover is already being observed to change and a lot of the changes. There is examples of articles shrinkage and increased glacial runoff in Greenland and Antarctica can already be linked to global warming. For instance, the polar bears in the Arctic are being threatened by decreasing ice caps, and they do not have anywhere to walk and rest. Also, they can not eat food because they can not find land too eat it on.

 

Now days, in many parts of the world, forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate. Enormous numbers of trees are being cut down, both to provide timber and to clear the land for farming. This unhelpful process is called deforestation. In order to clear forests for agriculture, people cut down and burn all the trees in area. When the flames die down, nothing is left but acres of blackened, lifeless countryside. The fire destroys all the plants and kills  or drives off the animals. Because there has been little attempt to replant trees in deforested areas, the world's forests are disappearing very quickly.

 

If we can reduce the greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere, we probably can slow the rate of global warming and climate. There are a number of things that we can do to prepare for the changes that are coming. If we act now, perhaps we can "soften the blow" of the greenhouse effects. In the future, the weather cold change much more dramatically from year to year than it doesbnow. As global warming alters habitats, many kinds of animals will be on the move, but all sorts of barriers will stand between them and a new place to live. To help animals get around these barriers, ut might be necessary to set up migration corridors that connect natural areas with one another. Without human intervention, many kinds of plants also may not survive as the earth's climate Changes. Forests, in particular, may need our help. If climate changes come rapidly, few tree species will be able to spread into new areas fast enough to keep up with changing conditions.

No doubt, global warming is a gigantic question throughout the planet now. Many considered it is caused by humans and our ways of life. The earth is at risk, and many people do not seem to care, or even notice.
