4. Less Filters, More Stories!
Filmmakers today seem to work in more extreme environments which sometimes requires extra story-telling elements, as well as extra footage of scenes and locations. That means no shortage of production challenges for directors, writers, and producers. The problem is that sometimes, we might not need a lot more production resources since we know everything is already filmed. Sometimes you really only need extras, or maybe you just have a bit of extra time for additional story telling (which are usually paid for by the creators). However, I think the future of productions like this is truly amazing. I think there is an abundance of opportunities for new storytelling styles! From visual effects, makeup and sound (more on that below), I believe that many exciting and exciting filmmakers are becoming increasingly creative and innovative, especially in the areas of story telling and camera angles. I personally also plan to see some new groundbreaking work on audio (such as podcasts and audiobooks), music and visuals (such as animated movies), and other special effects. I know that sound effects, visuals and story telling are definitely changing (especially in short scenes, or in a scene where nothing makes sense)! But overall, I think we will see more of these changes and more creative filmmaking in the next few years.
5. Voice Acting Is Being Used More Often (At least Mostly).
I was amazed to hear someone ask at all about voice acting and how important it is to understand why I think voice acting is growing more and more important! And how I think we should take more pride in it instead of focusing on ways we lose sight of it. Of course I guess this question didn’t originate on me, but I do think every viewer has experienced it during their lifetime and would love to be able to hear our voices in real life. I have talked about this in my post on using voice acting in marketing in general and I hope that I can answer that again in a later article! Voice acting is everywhere. From news alerts to podcast interviews right through to radioMy recommendation would be Wonder Woman 1984, which will certainly not disappoint. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel and DC make new comic book stories involving the titans! Let me explain. While Wonder Woman 1984 looks as generic as possible at other MCU movies, it still features the main character Diana and the rest of the gang! And there is an interesting twist in the storyline. She goes on adventures together with Steve Rogers and doesn’t appear in subsequent films for any reason! I’m talking about a movie that would probably not have had nearly as much hype nowadays, even though it comes at a premium price! Plus, it is currently filming, so there are plenty of new actors joining the project soon.
I think Hollywood just took away most of the quality titles available for streaming services over the last 10–15 years and we are slowly going back to quality movies. Which is really disappointing to say. Quality movies aren’t exactly synonymous to poor quality movies, though. Movies like Hidden Figures, Midnight Mass, Gone In Sixty Seconds, Raging Bull, Striptease, Bohemian Rhapsody, Narcos, Little Fires Everywhere, Inside Out, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Jaws, and many others. It’s quite shocking how expensive a full feature movie is nowadays compared to what it used to be a matter of decades ago. Just like this, there are different titles with varying quality levels.
