This is based on current consumption rates.

 The situation with regard to coal worldwide is also quite awful. Coal would no longer be available from coal mines in another 25 to 30 years. It will be a challenging circumstance. They cannot be dismantled like other plants once they have died. They must be buried very deeply. and kept safe forever. For these reasons, the world must pause before fully committing to nuclear power.

 Scientists are currently working to harness the resources of the sun, biogas, water, and air. To generate hydroelectric electricity at comparatively lower costs, water is employed extensively. In similar fashion, air mills are being constructed in wealthy nations worldwide. Solar power also has a promising future. Rapid development is being made in solar-powered thermal generating units. To focus the sunlight on the thermal generators, which utilise this sunlight to produce energy, giant dishes are constructed. Waste from both humans and animals is being quickly used as a source of energy.

 The situation with regard to energy in India is not too depressing. The nation's oil production is rising quickly. In the last five years, it has increased by half, from 15 million tonnes to 30 million tonnes. India is able to meet 60% of its own needs, but it cannot expect to become self-sufficient any time soon. India has already begun utilising sources outside coal and oil. However, she is limited in what she can accomplish by the financial resources at her disposal. The energy industry received 30% of the nation's capital investment under the Seventh Plan. We currently pay a very high premium for our gasoline. The fuel of the working class, kerosene, is rationed. The lack of diesel for water pumps in agricultural areas and the scarcity of furnace oil are endangering the survival of several industries.

When they discovered oil in the Bombay High wells a few years ago, our oil experts were ecstatic. "We have hit the jackpot," they said. At a few additional discovered oil fields, the ONGC authorities have found oil. Currently, we are not creating enough, despite the fact that our consumption is rising every week.
