Tectonic plates are pushed apart or towards each other due to energy. Pressure is created as a result of energy and motion over time. As a result of strong pressure, a fracture line is formed. The center of this dispersion is the epicenter of the earthquake. Subsequently, the traveling of energy waves from the focus to the surface causes tremors.
Volcanic earthquake
An earthquake caused by volcanic activity is called a volcanic earthquake. These types of earthquakes are weaker. Volcanic earthquakes are divided into two types. In the first type, which is called volcano tectonic, tremors occur due to the entry or withdrawal of magma. In the second type, called long-term earthquakes, tremors occur due to a change in pressure between the earth's layers.

Collapse Earthquake is the third type of earthquake that occurs in caves and mines. This is another example of a weak earthquake. Mines collapsed due to explosions underground. As a result of this collapse, seismic waves are subsequently formed. Earthquakes occur because of these seismic waves.

The fourth type of earthquake is called an explosive earthquake. This is caused by nuclear weapons testing.

Deadly tsunamis are caused by earthquakes. Gigantic sea waves are caused by the sudden or abnormal movement of huge volumes of water. This is called an ocean earthquake. When a tsunami hits the sea coast, it causes massive loss of life and property.
An earthquake is considered one of the biggest and deadliest natural disasters in the world. This is proven by the fact that human beings are nothing in front of nature. The sudden occurrence of an earthquake shocks everyone. Scientists are working diligently to prevent earthquake damage, but nothing fruitful has been achieved so far.
Examples of a devastating earthquake
The city of Kobe, Japan witnessed a devastating earthquake on January 17, 1995, that left over 6,000 dead and over 45,000 homeless. The tremors had a magnitude of 6.9 at the time and caused around $100 million in damage. Governor Kobe spent years rebuilding and trying to bring back the fifty thousand people who had left their homes. Japan is a geologically highly active country. It lies on four major tectonic plates, namely the Eurasian, Philippine, Pacific and North American plates, which often meet and interact with each other.
The second incident is in Nepal, where an earthquake struck on April 25, 2015. Approximately 9,000 people were killed and nearly 600,000 structures were destroyed. The magnitude of the earthquake was 7.9 and the repulsion was felt by neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, China and India. The disaster caused serious damage worth millions of dollars. All countries around the world including India have rallied to help Nepal by sending monetary aid, medical supplies, transport helicopters and more.
