What is dream in simple words?

The common goal of dreams is to work through issues in a more creative way. We wake up every morning hoping, wishing, and dreaming. Our hopes are renewed, while our dreams are shattered. Dreams are the products of an active brain, which takes its cue from neural networks that underlie conscious states. While dreams can be disturbingly vivid, they’re rarely autobiographical and are typically made up of unconnected scenes.

A dream is a kind of experience of our subconscious mind. It can be described as the combination of thoughts, emotions and ideas that occur while we are sleeping. A dream is also an effortless product of our personal thought pattern set off by some external stimuli or events that trigger us to think about what we would like to do in a day-to-day activity.
