INTRODUCTION
Did you ever feel that your life is hard and you have so many responsibilities in your life?
If the answer is yes then, you should read this article till the end.
What is DID?
Our brain is so mysterious that we can't imagine how many disorders are in the world.
One of the disorders named Dissociative Identity Disorder is very mysterious. DID is a disorder characterized by the presence of two or more personalities or Alters.
Dissociative identity disorder was also named Multiple personality disorder. It is like a defense mechanism for your mental health to avoid bad memories or a bad incident that occurred in your life previously.
MORE FACTS ABOUT DID
If you think this disorder can affect anyone, you are wrong because DID can only affect the age between 1 year to 6 years of age. That's why children who suffer mental torture, mental abuse, or sexual abuse have some symptoms of this disorder as their brains make a defense mechanism in their brain in the form of a new personality or Alters.
You are thinking why I'm saying personality as Alters. So, this is because the personalities which are built in your brain are called Alters.
So, we have talked about DID so much so, let's talk about the symptoms of DID.
1. Amnesia
Amnesia is a symptom of DID. Amnesia means you forgot what you did yesterday or what you have done in your morning. In simple language, Amnesia means when you forgot in some intervals what you had done previously.
Amnesia is a symptom because this is because of your Alters as let's take an example you are sitting on a chair and watching T.V. You got blank and then when you open your eyes you found yourself on the road walking among the people that is because of Alters as when between that time interval when you got blank and when you were walking the alters were in your body.
2. Change in your behavior
This is also a symptom of DID disorder, as if others see that your behavior is changing in short intervals, you can have a symptom of DID Disorder.
It has more symptoms, but we will take that symptom in further articles.
But here is a bonus fact: if any child of age group between one to six years, they have a symptom of DID.
Now you are confusing what I'm saying, But this is a little bit true because when we were kids, we watch avengers, Spiderman, and other superhero movies and cartoons, and sometimes we behave like them and think that like we are a superhero. For example, a kid is watching and behaving like a spiderman jumping from one sofa to another and thinking that he is a spider-man, which is also a symptom. Still, we can't say it DID as the kid behaves like it, but he didn't change his behavior, and he is also not suffering from Amnesia.
