diabetes

But despite these dangers, there is very little awareness about this disease in India. Millions of people are diagnosed with diabetes when it has caused a lot of damage to them. That is why today we are sharing a detailed post with you on the symptoms of diabetes, Jain.

Before knowing Diabetes Symptoms, let us briefly know what is diabetes and what are its two main types.

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease in which the amount of glucose in the patient's blood exceeds the required amount. This can happen for two reasons:

1. Your body is not producing enough insulin.

2 . Your cells are not reacting to the insulin being produced.

Two major types of diabetes-

Type 1 diabetes: In this the body stops making insulin and the patient has to be given insulin by injection.

Type 2 diabetes: In this, the body makes insulin but our cells do not react to it. Most people have type 2 diabetes.

Symptoms of diabetes-

1. Hunger and fatigue-

Your body converts the food you eat into glucose which your cells use for energy. But your cells need insulin to bring the glucose in.

If your body doesn't make enough insulin, or even if it does, your cells resist it, then glucose can't enter the cells and you don't have energy. Due to which you feel more hungry than normal people and you feel tired.

2. Excessive urination and thirst-

On an average a person urinates 6-7 times a day, but if you have to urinate more often than this then you may have diabetes.

Due to diabetes, the level of sugar in the blood becomes much higher than normal. When this happens, the body tries to remove the excess sugar from the body through urine. Since the level of sugar in the blood does not decrease even after urinating once, the body employs the kidneys to remove the extra sugar. The kidney makes urine repeatedly after filtering the blood and the diseased person has to urinate frequently.

Why do you feel thirsty?

To remove excess sugar from the body through urine, our body first dilutes the blood, for which it uses the fluids water present in the body. Due to this reason the body becomes dehydrated and feels thirsty again and again.

3. Dry mouth and itching-

Since a diabetic person has frequent urination and this urine is formed from the fluids present in the body, there is a lack of moisture for other things. You may feel dehydrated when this happens. Due to lack of water in the body, the mouth starts drying and can cause itching in the skin.

4. Blurred vision-

As we know, to remove excess sugar from the body, our body dilutes the blood, for which it uses the fluids present in the body. Sometimes due to the movement of fluids, some fluid goes into the lenses of the eyes, due to which the lenses become swell. Due to swelling, the shape of the lens changes and it is not able to focus properly. That's why things look blurry.

Sometimes the reverse also happens, that is, the fluids present in the lenses get pulled and even then the shape of the lens deteriorates and things appear blurry.

5. Sudden weight loss-

If you are losing weight unintentionally, then this can also be a symptom of diabetes. This mostly happens in Type 1 diabetes, but sometimes this symptom is also seen in Type 2.

Actually, due to lack of insulin, the glucose present in the blood does not reach the cells of the body and the cells are unable to use glucose as energy. But the body needs energy, so it starts burning body fat and muscles to get energy. Obviously, when this happens, the body weight starts decreasing rapidly.

6. Nausea and vomiting-

When the body burns fat to meet its energy needs, it also produces "ketones". Ketones can build up in your blood to dangerous levels, which can cause stomach upset and nausea and vomiting.

7. Yeast or Fungal Infection-

Glucose is high in a diabetic person and yeast needs glucose to thrive. Therefore, if you are having frequent yeast infections, then this can also be a symptom of diabetes. This infection usually occurs in these places:

*Between fingers

*Under the breast

*S-ex organs and around the thighs.

8. Delayed Wound Healing:

If one of your wounds is taking longer than usual to heal, you may have diabetes. Actually, due to diabetes, the increased amount of glucose in the blood can gradually affect your nerves, due to which the circulation of blood in the body is not done properly. In such a situation, even the right amount of blood does not reach the injured place and at the same time the supply of oxygen and nutrients that comes with it is also disrupted. Because of this, wounds take longer than necessary to heal.

9. Tingling in the hands and feet / numbness in the hands and feet-

If you have diabetes and you do not control it for a long time, then it can damage your nerves which is called diabetic neuropathy. Hands and feet send signals only with the help of these nerves. But due to damage to the nerves, the signals are not passed properly and you feel tingling in the hands and feet.

10. Wounds and swelling in the gums-

Diabetes can weaken your ability to fight germs, thus increasing the risk of infection in your gums and the bones that hold your teeth. In this case, your gums may protrude from the teeth, your teeth may become loose, or you may have sores, pus, or swelling in your gums

Note- Diabetes is also called a silent killer because many times its symptoms are not clear and even if there is a little problem, then the person ignores it, and it is detected when the disease causes a lot of damage. But you do not do this, if you are feeling any of these 10 symptoms, then get your sugar checked as soon as possible.
