What is Clear Clutter

Is your home so disorganized that you can't find anything? Do you frequently arrive at work late because you can't locate your car keys? You'll be more organized and save time with these recommendations.

Place things where they make sense. Put your keys in a dish near the front door so you don't have to look all over the house for them. Place anything you need to take with you by the front door, such as your mail, your briefcase, or the returned library books. Because you won't have to run around trying to gather what you need for the day, this will save you time in the morning.

Adjust yourself as you go. Instead of leaving the newspaper on the coffee table, pick it up and put it in the recycle bin. Instead of once a day, empty the dishwasher after each meal. Instead of putting your groceries on the kitchen table, put them away. How might you potentially understand what food you do or don't have in the event that last week's take is still clinched? As a result, the kitchen no longer serves as a constant reminder of the things that need to be done but instead becomes an inviting spot to eat.

Before starting a new project, finish the first one. A friend of mine started renovating his bathroom, never finished it, and is currently working on his kitchen. Because it is now so overwhelming, he never manages to finish any project because his house is always in a state of confusion.

Tidy up your bathroom. After shaving or washing your face, wipe the sink and vanity top clean and put your toiletries away. If you do these little things as you go, the bathroom will look cleaner and you won't have to worry about being embarrassed if someone asks to use it.

Get your closets in order. You won't be able to see what you have if your closet is full to the brim. Keep out-of-season clothing in the spare bedroom closet rather than stuffing everything into your closet. Shoe racks or boxes can hold shoes. Donate any clothes that no longer fit you or that you haven't worn in a while. Don't keep things you can no longer use because someone else will be grateful to have them.

Keep your significant reports and papers in a protected spot. Birth endorsements, visas, marriage permit, legal documents, the deed to your home and the title to your vehicle ought to be recorded in a flame resistant lockbox. Even better, you should keep them in a safe deposit box at a local bank so you can easily access them when you need them. Backup your important financial data to a flash drive and keep it at the bank if you keep it on your home computer. The assurance that you won't have to replace these documents in the event of a disaster makes the cost of a safe deposit box well worth it.

Your home will remain cozy and clutter-free if you take small steps toward organization every day.
