what is Cancer of The Brain and Brain Tumors

Brain tumors can start in your brain (primary brain tumor), or cancer can start in other parts of your body and spread to your brain (secondary, or metastatic brain tumor).

The number of diagnosed brain tumors is increasing every year. There is evidence that the increase has been going on for decades. But it is not clear why.

Causes and risk factors

Other than a well-known association with exposure to vinyl chloride, there are no known chemical or environmental agents that cause brain tumor growth.

Genetic mutations and the removal of tumor-suppressing genes (ie, genes that suppress the growth of malignant cells) increase the risk of certain types of brain cancer. Inherited diseases that are associated with brain tumors include:

Multiple endocrine neoplasia types 1 (pituitary adenoma)

Neurofibromatosis type 2 (brain and spinal cord tumors)

• Retinoblastoma (malignant retinal glioma)

Rous Tuberous sclerosis (primary brain tumors)

Van Huppel-Linda disease (retinal tumor, CNS tumor)

Patients with a history of melanoma, lung, breast, colon, or kidney cancer are at risk for secondary brain cancer.

Exposure to vinyl chloride is an environmental risk factor for brain cancer. Vinyl chloride is a carcinogen. It is used in the manufacture of plastic products such as pipes, wire coatings, furniture, car parts, and household goods, and is present in tobacco smoke.

Manufacturing and chemical plants can release vinyl chloride into the air or water, and it can leak into the atmosphere as a result of improper disposal. People who work in or live near these plants have an increased risk of developing brain cancer.

Symptoms of a brain tumor

There are two broad types of symptoms. The first result of an increase in pressure in the brain as the tumor spreads.

The scalp is stiff and cannot get, resulting in symptoms such as:

* Headaches, which are often common. It persists and deteriorates with activity, such as stress. It often gets worse at night or early in the morning.

* Vomiting, which may or may not is associated with nausea. It is more common in children than in adults.

* Seizures in an adult without a history of seizures are strongly recommended. Appropriate examinations including CT or MRI scans should be done immediately.

تبدیلی A change in mental capacity or personality, which is obvious to the family and not to the patient, or vice versa.

• Cheap.

The second type of symptom is related to the location of the tumor and the effects of its pressure on nearby structures.

There are several types of local symptoms, including:

* Weakness of various parts of the body, especially the arm or leg

مشکل Difficulties in coordination or balance

* Memory impairment.

مختلف Various visual impairments

* Speech problems

* Changes in feeling

* In the case of brain stem tumors - defects in the functioning of the nerves coming out of the base of the brain.

These symptoms can help determine the location of the tumor.

Treatment

The main goal of treatment is to remove the tumor completely. The first option for the treatment and management of brain tumors is surgery. If surgery is not possible or the tumor is not completely removed, article submission, radiation and chemotherapy can be used.

Treatment includes the following:

Lifestyle changes

Medicines

Chemotherapy

Radiation

Other treatments

Surgery
