What is Breast Caner?
Breast cancer is a difficult disease to understand. There are different forms of breast cancer and different treatment methods. While many people have related diagnoses or treatments, no two people's experiences are identical. Breast cancer is a disorder in which the cells in the breast get uncontrollably large. There are various types of breast cancer. The type of breast cancer is determined by which cells in the breast become cancerous. Breast cancer can start in a variety of places in the breast.
How Breast cancer starts?
When cells in the breast (such as those lining the ducts and globules) begin to grow abnormally, breast cancer develops. These cells have the ability to expand out of control and infiltrate the surrounding tissue. Invasive breast cancer is the term used when this happens.
Breast cancer develops when cells in your breast multiply and divide uncontrollably, resulting in a lump of tissue known as a tumor. Breast cancer symptoms include feeling a lump in your breast, observing changes to your breast skin, and experiencing a change in breast size. Early detection can be aided by mammograms.
Types of Breast cancer
- Invasive ductal carcinoma
This cancer begins in your breast milk ducts and spreads to surrounding breast tissue after breaking through the duct wall. This is the most common kind of breast cancer, accounting for around 80% of all occurrences.
- Ductal carcinoma in situ
Ductal carcinoma in situ, also known as Stage 0 breast cancer, is deemed precancerous by some because the cells haven't moved beyond your milk ducts. This is a relatively treatable condition. To prevent the cancer from becoming invasive and spreading to other tissues, urgent treatment is required.
- Infiltrating globular carcinoma
This cancer started in your breast globules (where breast milk is produced) and has spread to the surrounding breast tissue. Breast cancer accounts for 10% to 15% of all cancers.
- Globular carcinoma in situ
Globular carcinoma in situ is a precancerous condition in which the globules of your breast contain abnormal cells. Although it is not a genuine cancer, this marker may suggest the possibility of breast cancer in the future. Women with lobular carcinoma in situ should get clinical breast exams and mammography on a frequent basis.
- Inflammatory breast cancer
This cancer is rare and aggressive, and it looks like an infection. Redness, swelling, pitting, and dimpling of the breast skin are common symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer. Obstructive cancer cells in their skin's lymph veins cause it.
Early symptoms of Breast cancer
Breast cancer symptoms differ from person to person. Breast cancer symptoms could include:
- A change in your breast's size, shape, or contour.
- A little lump or tumor that feels like a pea.
- A lump or thickening in or around your breast or underarm that lasts for the duration of your menstrual cycle.
- A change in the appearance or feel of your breast or nipple skin (dimpled, puckered, scaly or inflamed).
- The skin of your breast or nipple is red.
- A region on either breast that is unique from the rest of the breast.
- A firm, marble-like area beneath your skin.
- A clear or blood-stained fluid discharge from your nipple.
