Disease Introduction- Inflammation of the appendix is ​​called appendicitis. In this disease, due to obstruction of the opening of the appendix, inflammation (swelling) arises. The appendix can reach the appendix through blood. Appendix disease is more common in children and young people. The onset of this disease occurs suddenly at midnight. There is a history of uncontrolled eating before the onset of this disease.

 

In this disease, there is a lot of pain on the right side of the abdomen. There is nausea and vomiting. The patient has disorders like flatulence and constipation along with fever.

 

The attack of the disease many times is the specialty of this disease. Many times, due to the attack of impulses, the disease becomes chronic. Due to which the symptoms of dyspepsia become predominant.

 

 There are usually two types of Appendicitis.

 

1. Acute Appendicitis

 

2. Chronic Appendicitis

 

1. Acute Appendicitis- In this pathology. There is acute inflammation in the appendix. It is commonly found in both men and women. Men are more affected by this disease, especially in puberty.

 

This disease is of very severe nature. It is a state of deformity that comes under operation. But nowadays with the help of new medicines, antibiotics and sulfa drugs, many times it calms down.

 

If acute appendicitis is not treated immediately, it can quickly become fatal. Therefore, the doctor should immediately diagnose by physical and practical examinations and take appropriate medical measures.

 

What is the cause of acute appendicitis?

 

Lack of blood

 

Pelvic inflammation.

 

Foreign matter.

 

Pheoliths.

 

Generalized infection.

 

There are also many types of auxiliary causes or causes tendency, such as-

 

Lengthening of the appendix.

Mild attack of inflammation in the past.

 

Common in adult males and occasionally in the elderly.

Excess of protein and lack of fiber in the diet.

 

The specific cause of this disease is virulence bacteria, especially Streptococci, Pyogenes and Bacterium coli. Apart from this, can gut bacteria also be responsible for this?

 

What are the symptoms of acute appendicitis?

 

Abdominal pain-

 

1. Sudden abdominal pain is the main symptom. This pain mainly starts in the late night and early morning. The patient wakes up from sleep. The patient feels a stinging pain in the abdomen. Which is felt in the navel region. And within 24 hours it gets concentrated in the south iliac fossa. Sometimes the appendix does not stay in its right place and slips to another place. In this condition, the pain occurs under the ribs on the right side or near the waist.

 

Mild fever-

 

Fever remains from 99 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 101- 102 degrees Fahrenheit.

 

Nausea and vomiting

 

When the pain starts, the patient feels nauseous and vomits 1-2 times. Although the vomiting does not last long, the nausea persists.

 

Constipation and diarrhea-

 

Constipation is often present in this disease. And when the rectum, pelvic colon is invaded, mucoid diarrhea is found especially in children. Watery loose stools occur in the appendix of the ileum type. The second symptom of this disease is the presence of complete defecation. Sometimes vomiting is accompanied by a tendency to diarrhea. But constipation remains more common.

 

Dislike-

 

Symptoms of anorexia (not feeling like eating) are also found in the patient of this disease.

Rapid pulse-

 

The pulse rate is increased in the patient of this disease and becomes more rapid than fever. Improvement of pulse rate is an indicator of improvement in condition. And if the pulse rate does not decrease and keeps on increasing, then it should be understood that the condition of the patient is deteriorating, so he needs immediate operation.

 

Stiffness of abdominal wall and pain due to pressing – The wall becomes hard near McBirney point and pressing causes pain.

 

Increase in white particles in the blood- In this disease, the increase of white particles is done up to 15-20 thousand. Along with this, the symptoms of poisoning increase.

 

Other symptoms- After some time i.e. on the second day the symptoms of pain start disappearing and the patient usually gets cured for about 6-7 days. But if it is not cured even after a week, then Vidradhi or Puya Bhava (Pup) is generated in the appendix. In this case, a bulge near the McBirney point can be touched.

 

Anus stiffness is common in pelvic appendicitis.

 

Note- If septic fever, convulsions, hepatomegaly and jaundice are also accompanied by appendicitis, then that condition indicates appendicular perforation and pyelonephritis.

 

Diagnosis of appendix disease

 

1. The patient suffering from this disease keeps the right leg lying straight by contracting it on the stomach.

 

2 . If the patient extends the leg, then pain is felt due to stretching of the abdominal muscles.

 

3. The abdominal wall of the patient appears to be tightened. Doesn't move even with exhalation.

 

4. The tongue of the patient suffering from this disease looks dry and dirty.

 

5. Touching at McBirney point gives the symptom of tactlessness, and on touching the patient stretches his abdomen which makes it difficult to press.

 

Due to the spread of inflammation in the peritoneum, the symptom of astigmatism is also found in the skin of the triangular region formed by a straight line on the outside of the appendix or the midline of the abdomen and the navel.

 

Note- If this sign is found in people below middle age, then the appendix is ​​fixed.

6. The speed of pulse is fast, i.e. up to 80-90, as well as the force of the pulse is also less. If the pulse rate becomes rapid without increasing the temperature, then the effect of poison on the heart should be understood.

 

7. When the speed of the pulse becomes rapid, the condition of the patient falls.

 

Other suspicious symptoms

 

1. If someone has abdominal pain from time to time, then appendix should be suspected.

 

2. Tactility on the appendix region is the main diagnostic symptom of this disease.

 

If the appendix is ​​not treated at the right time, the following problems may occur-

 

1. The emergence of a chronic state.

 

2. Adhesion of appendix to other organs.

 

3. Decay in the appendix.

 

4. Having a wound.

 

5. Origin of Vividhi.

 

6. Origin or perforation of the gland.

 

7. After perforation in the appendix, it becomes inevitable to have peritonitis.

 

8. Origin of the sub-phrenic-absis below the diaphragm.

 

9.Portal Pymia.

 

10. There can be nuisance like perinephric abscess etc.

 

2. Chronic Appendicitis-

 

This is a chronic stage of acute appendicitis. In such a condition, the swelling of the appendix reduces but does not end completely. In most of the patients, this disease is of chronic form from the beginning. It gets attacked from time to time. The interval of attacks is not fixed, either attack takes place at an interval of one to two months or another attack occurs at an interval of one year.

 

Symptoms of chronic appendicitis-

 

1. In this state the temperature and pulse rate remain normal.

 

2. The patient has severe or moderate (mild) pain in the middle of the abdomen or on the right side of the abdomen. Which after some time results in left iliac fossa. Sometimes the pain also intensifies.

 

3. Special symptoms are found such as nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea.

 

4. After a while, the patient gets relieved from the above symptoms and starts looking healthy.

 

5. After some time, similar symptoms are found again and then it calms down.

What is the home and ayurvedic remedy for appendix?

 

1. In case of acute pain, Hingvashtak powder 1 gram, Lavan Bhaskar powder 1 gram, Sajjikshar 500 mg, Kampil 500 mg and Lashunadi vati or Mahashankh vati 2-2 vati should be taken 3-4 times a day.

 

2. In place of pain, bake with mustard strips and warm water.

 

3. If the pain is more, then take 100 mg opium or Jatifaladi churna with 2 grams of water to bring peace and sleep.

 

4. Put rock salt in warm water and give settlement.

 

5. After the pain subsides, give 250 mg Kajjali with honey in the morning and evening, and then give a bath of drumstick bark.

 

6. Take Arogyavardhini Vati with Punarnavadi Kwath twice a day.

 

Note- In this way, by following the medicine and diet for a month as needed, the swelling of the appendix is ​​cured and cured. If there is no special benefit from this therapy, then it is better to get an operation done.

 

Ways to avoid appendix-

 

To avoid appendix, include fiber-rich things in your food items regularly. Minimize the use of oil and spices in food. Do not let constipation occur in the stomach, take measures as soon as there is a problem of constipation. Keep the stomach clean. Regularly include digestive things like lemon, mint etc. in the diet. Drink more water and eat food at the right time, stay away from things that increase body fat. Minimize the consumption of fast food.
