Electrical Power System
In this article, we are going to talk about a system that includes a complete system ranging from generating electrical power to distributing it, it is called electrical power system. In this, different devices & different elements are used for different operations, which we will also understand in this topic, so now we understand in detail about the electrical power system, what is this system and how. In it, electrical power is generates.
Electrical power system is a network system in which electrical power is generated, then transmitted, which transmits the power to the power stations & the power is distributed among consumers, thus the entire electrical power system work.

General Block Diagram of Power System
For this, different devices are used for different operations, such as the first thing is the generation of electrical power, then to generate electrical power, an electrical generator is used for generating power plant, etc. Where electrical power generates.
Thereafter, comes the transmission of this generated power for which the transmission line is used, which is the overhead transmission line, the underground transmission line etc. which is Short, Medium and Long Used as a transmission line, their length depends on the consumer end, also looks about distance from the consumer has from the generating station.
Then it has to distribute everywhere. Distribution for which the distribution system and power Transformers etc. are used. In this way, the entire system is made, in addition to this, all the devices and elements are used such as motor, lightning arrestor, Isolator, generator, relay, Circuit breaker, Conductor, Capacitor, Earthing Arrangement, Wave Trap, Transformer etc.
●Electrical Power System Substations
Different substations are used for this, which include generating substations, transmission substations, and distribution substations, so now know about all these substations in detail how they work.
●Generating substation
It is a substation where electrical power is generated for which many types of power plants are used such as Hydro Power Plant, Wind Power Plant, Nuclear Power Plant, Thermal Power Plant etc. Electrical power is generated with the generators. These generators do the work of conversion of mechanical power into electrical power.

Typical A/C power supply system (Generation, Transmission, and Distribution)
Now, once the power is generated at the generating station, this power is of low voltage level as it puts less stress on the armature of the low voltage alternator. But, it becomes very costly to load or deliver this low voltage power to the consumer. Reason for due to low voltage, the losses during transmission are very high. Voltage regulation is also very poor. To avoid this, step-up transformers are used at the generating station to increase the voltage. After it, this voltage is supplied to the transmission line.
●Transmission substation
This is a substation through which the power generated at the generating station is passed to the industry or home consumers, for which the transmission line is used. These transmission lines can be of the Overhead or Underground type, depending on the distance from the generating station to the Consumer or Load system. Depending also on which is Short, medium and long transmission lines are used. Transforming voltage through transmission substation can be up to several 'KV's such as 66 KV, 120 KV, 230 KV, 500 KV, 765 KV etc. Voltages up to several 'KV's are transmitted through this substation.
●Distribution substation
It is the substation of the electrical power system that collects all the electrical power from the transmission substation, then transmits it to the consumer or load system. Step-down transformer is used for distribution substations where the voltage range is reduced, the capacitor and Reactor us used in this substation to maintain the voltage.
Thus, wherever the consumer has to deliver the electrical power or any company or any other load system to which the power has to be delivered, it is connected to this distribution substation where the supply of the electrical power is done with the help of a step-down transformer mounted on it.
Therefore, it is made up of complete electrical power system, which is used to generate electrical power and transmit it then distributed this power. Some small electrical power systems can also be seen in some industries, hospitals, commercial buildings, and houses etc. which are based on three-phase AC power systems.
