What is AI cybersecurity? How it helps in healthcare organizations to provide security for information and systems from hackers?

 What is cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is the protection of computer systems, networks, hardware, software, telecommunications, information, physical devices, people, etc. from both intentional and unintentional harm. It is the practice of protecting these objects, systems, and sensitive information from the potential risks that are present in the network.

The healthcare industry is one of the world's largest industries. It is also one of the most vulnerable to cybersecurity attacks. Health information is subject to a number of sensitive and personal details and can be highly lucrative to attackers. As a result, it is essential that the healthcare industry becomes the focus of cybersecurity efforts.

Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning can help by providing insight into what is happening in the network and anticipating potential attacks before they happen.

 What is AI Cybersecurity?

Artificial intelligence, being a very effective technology to solve our problems and used in many devices like self-driving cars, can also be used in cybersecurity to automate the processes of threat and malware detection and to secure information and data from hackers. Simply, AI cybersecurity is the use of AI in cybersecurity which makes it more effective as cybersecurity can be made automated and require less human effort.

As technicians work with AI, they can use programs to help them detect potential cybercriminals. Hackers are using their abilities to hack into the financial, health, and military industries with the intent to steal sensitive data.

The most popular method that is currently being used by hackers is to use ransomware. Ransomware is a form of the virus that will encrypt important data on your computer. Hackers will threaten to destroy your data unless you send them money. One example of ransomware is CryptoLocker.

A common belief is that AI will one day be able to help stop hackers. However, there is no evidence that AI has been used to stop hackers yet. Some AI-based security programs are able to stop hackers.

 AI Cybersecurity in healthcare

It is estimated that AI in cybersecurity is projected to increase at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 23.66 percent from 2020 to 2027. “AI is the only way you can really solve those big complex data problems,” Johan Gerber, executive vice president of security & cyber innovation at MasterCard, said in a report. Of course, AI has a lot of potentials to advance our technologies and networks, and solve many problems.

AI does not only help in patient diagnosis and treatment but can also be used in cybersecurity systems in healthcare organizations to secure the information, all data of patients and organization from any hackers OR cyber criminals and make the systems secure.

Basically, there are three goals of cybersecurity; protecting the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of information also called as “CIA triad” which is also used in healthcare organizations for their normal functioning. So, integrating the AI (working 24 hours and 7 weeks) in cybersecurity for healthcare can make it easier for those organizations to secure the information or data from any harm or from unknown hackers than most people working in cybersecurity of healthcare organizations.
